Data processing method

A data processing method of variable measurement data in an electronic control unit (ECU) is provided. The ECU that processes the data processing method calculates a filtering frequency based on a delay time frequency based on a transmission timing cycle of the measurement data and a processing timing cycle of the measurement data in the ECU, and also based on a pulsation frequency of the measurement data, and removes, from the measurement data, a component of the filtering frequency calculated in the calculation of the filtering frequency.

Synchronization of an internal combustion engine

Sensor delivering detection information in the form of a variation of a current, including a sensitive portion adapted to detecting the passage of a mobile target, an electronic module able to control and shape signals coming from the sensitive portion, an embedded intelligence module adapted, inter alia, to receive information from an electronic computer and to process and generate information intended for the electronic computer, characterized in that the sensor includes a random-number generation module able to generate a random number.

Engine system

An engine system provided to a vehicle having an accelerator pedal is provided. When an engine operation range is determined to shift to a first range (where an electromagnetic clutch is disengaged) from a second range (where the clutch is engaged) after an opening of the accelerator pedal increases at a rate below a given reference rate, the clutch is switched from ON to OFF after a given basic stand-by period passes from the shift. When the engine operation range is determined to shift from the second range to the first range after the accelerator pedal opening increases at the given reference rate or above, the clutch is switched from ON to OFF after a given acceleration stand-by period (longer than the basic stand-by period by a given added period) passes from the shift.

A method of controlling fuel injection subsequent to engine start, comprises: a) at, or after synchronization, in respect of a potential upcoming firing or injection event for a particular cylinder, determining or selecting a first injection profile; b) determining if there is sufficient time for the first injection profile to be implemented; and c) if so, implementing the said first injection profile with respect to said event.

Control system and method for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine

A control system for controlling operation of an internal combustion engine is configured to: receive a first request signal indicative of first torque demand; determine a schedule defining an opening timing of the intake valve and a closing timing of the intake valve of a cylinder of the internal combustion engine in dependence on the first torque demand; and cause the intake valve to open in accordance with the schedule. The control system is also configured to, during a period in which the intake valve is open: receive a second torque request signal indicative of a second torque demand different to the first torque demand; determine an updated schedule defining an updated closing timing of the intake valve in dependence on the second torque demand; and cause the intake valve to close in accordance with the updated schedule.

Control apparatus for operating a fuel injector

A control apparatus is disclosed for operating a fuel injector of an internal combustion engine. The control apparatus includes an Electronic Control Unit configured to: perform a first calculation task in order to calculate a set of Start Of Injection values (SOI.sub.i) of a train of injections, calculate an angular position (DIAngPos) of the crankshaft defining the start of a second calculation task, and perform the second calculation task in order to calculate a set of values (ET.sub.i) of the energizing time of the injections of the train. The angular position (DIAngPos) is calculated as a function of the Start Of Injection value (FirstSOI) of the first injection of the train as calculated by the first calculation task.

A control value calculation part includes an in-cylinder state estimation part that estimates a state to which the cylinder belongs between a plurality of PM-PN generation states. The plurality of PM-PN generation states are states in which a particulate matter is easily generated as compared with the other state, and are different from each other in a cause to generate the particulate matter. Further, in a case where it is determined that an operation state of an engine is a PM-PN exhaust state, the control value calculation part calculates a control value of an actuator in such a way to eliminate the PM-PN generation state according to the PM-PN generation state to which the state in the cylinder belongs.

An engine control system and method utilizes a processor and a valve controller in communication with the processor. A valve having a solenoid is in communication with the valve controller. The valve controller is configured to receive a combined selection and control signal from the processor, decode a desired electric current profile encoded in the signal, sense a control code encoded in the signal, and operate the solenoid in accordance with the decoded desired electric current profile in response to sensing the control code.

Control device for hybrid vehicle

A control device is capable of executing: an ignition time calculation process of calculating a target ignition time of an ignition plug; a stop process of stopping combustion control for some cylinders of a plurality of cylinders; and a compensation process of controlling a motor generator during the stop process, such that the motor generator compensates a drive power that is lost due to the stop of the combustion control. The control device prohibits the execution of the stop process when the target ignition time calculated in the ignition time calculation process is on a retard side of a predetermined prescribed time.
