A cylinder liner for an internal combustion engine is formed of cylindrical liner body having an interior cavity with a cylindrical inner surface, a sensor embedded in the cylindrical liner body and being configured for sensing a physical condition on the cylindrical inner surface, and a transmitter connected to the cylindrical liner body at a position remote from the sensor. A connecting wire connects the transmitter to the sensor, and is embedded in in the cylindrical liner body. The sensor is located in an upper portion of the cylindrical liner body and the transmitter is located directly below the sensor, such that the wire runs vertically. The transmitter can send information obtained by the sensor to a remote processor for calculating various operating states of the liner.

This provides, in a so-called V-type internal combustion engine, a structure for disposing a detection sensor that can detect the angular velocity of a crankshaft with high precision.

Ignition diagnostics system

A spark ignition engine system for communicating data includes a capacitive discharge ignition system using a microcontroller for controlling the spark ignition of a light-duty internal combustion engine; a memory device communicated with the microcontroller, wherein the micro-controller obtains engine data from the light-duty internal combustion engine and stores the engine data or software using the memory device; and a powering connection and a separate data connection that are electrically connected to different pins of the microcontroller, wherein the powering connection supplies power to the microcontroller while engine data or software is communicated via the data connection.

Outboard motor

An outboard motor includes an electric power source, a mechanical power source auxiliary machine, an electric circuit, an electric supply port, and a switch. The mechanical power source auxiliary machine assists driving a mechanical power source. The electric circuit electrically connects the electric power source and the mechanical power source auxiliary machine. The electric supply port is electrically connected to the electric power source through the electric circuit, and supplies an electric power to an accessory device to be connected thereto. The switch is disposed between the electric power source and the electric supply port in the electric circuit, and is switchable between an on state and an off state. The switch allows a flow of an electric current when switched to the on state, and interrupts the flow of the electric current when switched to the off state.

An internal combustion engine, including at least one electric motor (8, 13, 16, 20) situated on the crankcase of the internal combustion engine, at least one control unit (1) for controlling the internal combustion engine and/or the electric motor and at least one high voltage converter (15).

Outboard motor

An outboard motor has a vertical-shaft vee engine unit provided with a crankshaft arranged approximately vertically and left and right cylinder units aligned to be open backward in a V shape as seen in a plan view. A surge tank and an air intake system unit provided with an intake pipe to connect the surge tank to intake ports of the left and right cylinder heads are arranged in a center of a width direction of a rear side of the engine unit. In addition, an electronic control unit is arranged in an approximate center of a height direction in the right side of the air intake system unit. Furthermore, a high-pressure fuel filter is arranged in an approximate center of a height direction in the left side of the air intake system unit. Moreover, a vapor separator embedded with a high-pressure fuel pump is arranged under the high-pressure fuel filter.

Electric starter with integrated electronic filter for internal combustion engine

Electric starter for internal combustion engine comprising: an electric motor (M) combined with means (R, L) for driving the internal combustion engine and an electronic filter (10) that is arranged on a power circuit (3) of the electric motor (M) that is suitable for at least reducing the electromagnetic disturbance caused by the operation of the electric motor (M). The electronic filter (10) is placed inside a cover (11, 30) of the starter.
