A cylinder block for an internal combustion engine includes a metal section and a resin section. The metal section includes: a cylinder liner; head bolt female screw portions that are screwed onto male screw portions of head bolts that fasten the cylinder block and a cylinder head; crank cap bolt female screw portions that are screwed onto male screw portions of crank cap bolts that fasten the cylinder block and crank caps and columnar portions that connect the head bolt female screw portions; and the crank cap bolt female screw portions. The cylinder liner and the columnar portions are integrated with each other.

Combustion engine housing having cylinder cooling

A combustion engine housing with cylinder cooling includes at least one cylinder. The cylinder cooling channel has a distribution cross-sectional area having a cross-sectional area through which coolant can flow, in a first cross-sectional plane that is perpendicular to the cylinder axis. In a second cross-sectional plane, which is perpendicular to the cylinder axis and which is arranged in relation to the vertical direction between the first cross-sectional plane and the coolant outflow opening, has a throttle cross-sectional area, which is a cross-sectional area through which coolant can flow. The throttle cross-sectional area is smaller than the distribution cross-sectional area.

Cylinder head housing, method for producing a cylinder head housing, and casting core

A cylinder head housing for a combustion unit, which forms at least two cylinders arranged in-line, having receiving openings for one outlet valve each, which are assigned to the individual cylinders of the combustion unit, comprising exhaust gas channels, which extend from these outlet valve receiving openings and are merged into an exhaust gas outlet channel, and cooling channels having a roof distribution channel which is connected to an injector cooling channel provided for an arrangement above a cylinder and/or having a manifold distribution channel, which extends along the row of outlet valve receiving openings, the manifold distribution channel being connected to a plurality of manifold network channels running along the exhaust gas channels, which are directly or indirectly connected to a manifold collection channel, which extends along the row of outlet valve receiving openings.

Cylinder liner, block manufacturing method and cylinder liner manufacturing method

A cylinder liner that is casted in a block and defines a cylinder bore for one cylinder includes: a cylindrical liner body; a projection part including a plurality of projections on an outer peripheral surface of a part of the liner body; and a bore adjacent part inclined at a predetermined angle to an axial direction of the body and extending in the inclination direction, at a predetermined part between an upper side end and a lower side end of the body, of the outer peripheral surface of the body, which faces another cylinder bore to be adjacent when casted in the block. The outer peripheral surface of the bore adjacent part is positioned more on an inner side of the body than the outer peripheral surface above and below, and is formed such that the projections are absent on at least a part of the outer peripheral surface.

COOLING STRUCTURE OF ENGINE

A cooling structure of an engine comprises a cylinder block provided with a wall surface partitioning a water jacket provided to surround a cylinder line and allow cooling water to flow therein and a water-jacket spacer arranged inside the water jacket and provided to regulate flowing of the cooling water. The water-jacket spacer comprises a spacer body having a shape along an outer-peripheral shape of the cylinder line and includes an internal surface facing cylinders, and an expansive member expandable according to an external factor is provided at the internal surface of the spacer body such that the expansive member extends continuously over a range from an one-end side to the other-end side of the cylinder line at a lower part, in a cylinder-axis direction, of the internal surface of the spacer body.

Internal combustion engine having structural frame

A structural frame is provided. The structural frame includes a bottom surface, first and second cylinder block sidewall engaging surfaces, the first and second cylinder block sidewall engaging surfaces positioned above the bottom surface at a height that is above a centerline of a crankshaft support included in a cylinder block when the structural frame is coupled to the cylinder block.

Engine cooling structure

An engine cooling structure includes a cylinder block including a block inner peripheral wall that defines a water jacket and a block outer peripheral wall, a spacer housed in the water jacket, and a cooler provided outside the engine body. The spacer includes: a peripheral wall surrounding the block inner peripheral wall; and a dividing wall protruding from the peripheral wall to divide the water jacket into an upper passage and lower passages below the upper passage. A coolant introduced from a coolant inlet into the upper passage passes through an inter-bore part of the block inner peripheral wall. The coolant in the lower passages is introduced into the cooler through a coolant exit.
