CONTROL DEVICE FOR INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE
Intake holes at the opposite ends are opened and closed by first intake valves. The middle intake hole is opened and closed by a second intake valve. A control device includes an intake variable valve device. First branch channels are connected to the intake holes and produce a normal tumble flow. A second branch channel is configured such that the flow rate of intake air passing through the middle intake hole is relatively greater on the side closer to the outer periphery of the combustion chamber. Where increasing the flow coefficient is given a higher priority, a three-valve drive mode is selected. Where the strength of the normal tumble flow is enhanced, a two-valve drive mode is selected. Where production of the normal tumble flow is reduced, a one-valve drive mode is selected.
Engine
An engine includes a combustion chamber, a cylinder head, an intake valve, a partition wall plate, and a tumble valve. The cylinder head includes an intake port that communicates with the combustion chamber. The intake valve includes a head configured to open and close an open end of the intake port. The partition wall plate partitions the intake port into first and second passages. The tumble valve is configured to open and close either one of the first passage and the second passage. A cross sectional shape of the partition wall plate is defined on a basis of a shape of a gap that is surrounded by a contour of the head and a contour of the open end, as viewed in a reference direction. The reference direction is a direction from a reference point in the intake port to a gap between the open end and the head.
Internal Combustion Engine
An internal combustion engine for use with hydrogen fuel includes a cylinder assembly having a combustion chamber with a cylinder, a cylinder head, and a piston. Two inlet ports are disposed within the cylinder head, the inlet ports being closable by an inlet valve, and an outlet port within the cylinder head being selectively closable by an outlet valve. At least one spark plug is mounted to the cylinder head, and piston assembly having the piston and a crankshaft. A line passes through a center of one of the inlet ports and a center of a corresponding outlet port, with the line arranged at a non-zero angle to an axis of rotation of the crankshaft and with the line at a non-right angle to the axis of rotation. The cylinder head is secured by six fasteners, such as six bolts to an engine block defining the cylinder.
MULTI-STEP COMBUSTION CHAMBER WITH MULTI-STEP CYLINDER HEAD
A combustion system is provided for an internal combustion engine including a cylinder head and a piston. In one example, a combustion system may include a cylinder head with a second cylinder surface angled relative to a first cylinder surface, an intake port coupled to the first cylinder surface, an exhaust port coupled to the second cylinder surface, and a piston with a first piston surface parallel to the first cylinder surface and a second piston surface parallel to the second cylinder surface.
ENGINE
Provided is an engine with a starter valve arranged in a compact space and with a cylinder head having a cooling water passage and a starter valve feeding compressed air to a combustion chamber. The starter valve is arranged parallel in the axial direction to a cylinder while fitted into a sleeve, and a portion of the cooling water passage is formed by the outer surface of the sleeve fitted into a starter valve insertion hole formed in the cylinder head. A starting air passage orthogonal to the axial direction of the starter valve insertion hole is formed in the cylinder head, and a portion of the wall surface of the starting air passage is formed by the end surface on one side of the sleeve.
System and method for rotational combustion engine
A rotational combustion engine that generates force from the reciprocal motion and centripetal motion of one or more pistons that is then converted into rotational motion of a first cam and second cam wherein the cams are separated by a 2-3 degree horizontal offset and an angle of 60 degrees as well as camshaft assembly and driving shaft to provide power to an entity such as an automobile.
ENGINE VALVE WITH RAISED RING OR DIMPLE
An engine valve includes a stem, a head comprising an outer lip surface, a seating surface extending from the outer lip surface toward the stem, and a combustion surface extending from the outer lip surface on the opposite side of the head as compared to the seating surface. The combustion surface includes a first convex arcuate surface spaced away from the outer lip surface, at least partially forming a raised ring, and a first concave arcuate surface spaced away from the outer lip surface, at least partially forming a dimple.
