GAS TURBINE ENGINE
A gas turbine engine includes a fan assembly having a plurality of fan blades; and a turbomachine. The turbomachine includes a compressor section, a combustion section, and a turbine section in serial flow order. The turbomachine further including a first input power source; a second input power source configured to counter-rotate relative to the first input power source; a power output component operably connected to the fan assembly; and a gear assembly located forward of the combustion section of the turbomachine, the gear assembly configured to receive power from the first input power source and the second input power source and provide power to the power output component, the gear assembly comprising a helical gear.

GEARED TURBOFAN GAS TURBINE ENGINE ARCHITECTURE
A gas turbine engine typically includes a fan section, a compressor section, a combustor section and a turbine section. A speed reduction device such as an epicyclical gear assembly may be utilized to drive the fan section such that the fan section may rotate at a speed different than the turbine section so as to increase the overall propulsive efficiency of the engine. In such engine architectures, a shaft driven by one of the turbine sections provides an input to the epicyclical gear assembly that drives the fan section at a speed different than the turbine section such that both the turbine section and the fan section can rotate at closer to optimal speeds providing increased performance attributes and performance by desirable combinations of the disclosed features of the various components of the described and disclosed gas turbine engine.
GEARED TURBOFAN GAS TURBINE ENGINE ARCHITECTURE
A gas turbine engine typically includes a fan section, a compressor section, a combustor section and a turbine section. A speed reduction device such as an epicyclical gear assembly may be utilized to drive the fan section such that the fan section may rotate at a speed different than the turbine section so as to increase the overall propulsive efficiency of the engine. In such engine architectures, a shaft driven by one of the turbine sections provides an input to the epicyclical gear assembly that drives the fan section at a speed different than the turbine section such that both the turbine section and the fan section can rotate at closer to optimal speeds providing increased performance attributes and performance by desirable combinations of the disclosed features of the various components of the described and disclosed gas turbine engine.
Turbofan engine with heat exchanger module having optimized fan to element area parameter
A turbofan gas turbine engine includes, in axial flow sequence, a heat exchanger module, a fan assembly, a compressor module, and a turbine module. The fan assembly includes fan blades defining a corresponding fan area (A.sub.FAN). The heat exchanger module is in fluid communication with the fan assembly by an inlet duct, and includes radially-extending vanes arranged in a circumferential array with at least one vane including a heat transfer element for heat transfer from a first fluid contained within each element to an airflow passing over a surface of each heat transfer element before entering the fan assembly inlet. Each heat transfer element extends axially along the corresponding vane, with a swept heat transfer element area (A.sub.HTE) being the wetted surface area of all heat transfer elements in contact with the airflow. A Fan to Element Area parameter F.sub.EA of A.sub.HTE/A.sub.FAN lies in the range of 47 to 132.
Turbomachine with coaxial propellers
The invention relates to a nubomachine with a longitudinal axis, comprising two, respectively upstream (122) and downstream, coaxial outer propellers (122), characterised in that at least some of the blades (148) of the upstream propeller (122) comprise at least one internal air circulation chimney (150) that communicates with air-bleeding openings (152) in tire boundary layers of the blades (148), and communicates with air outflow openings (158) on the radially outer end thereof, the air-bleeding openings (152) leading to opening inlets (152a) on tire passive surfaces (156) of the blades (148), the inlets (152a) of the air-bleeding openings being radially arranged in an area (H1) contained between 10% and 45% of the radial dimension (H2) of the blades (148), measured above turd from the radial height of the blades for which the tangent of the leading edge (138) of the blades is orthogonal to the longitudinal axis, and the inlets (152a) of the air bleeding openings being arranged in an area contained between 0% and 30% of the local chord of the blades (148), measured at the level of said inlets (152a) and from the leading edges (138) of tire blades (148).

Turbine engine gearbox
A gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a fan section, a compressor section, and a turbine section including a fan drive turbine that drives the fan through a gear reduction. The gear reduction includes at least two double helical gears in meshed engagement, each of the at least two double helical gears having a first plurality of gear teeth separated from a second plurality of gear teeth such that a first end of the first plurality of gear teeth and a first end of the second plurality of gear teeth are spaced apart by an axial distance. Each of the first plurality of gear teeth is offset a first circumferential offset distance in relation to the next gear tooth of the second plurality of gear teeth when moving in a circumferential direction relative to respective axes.
Turbine engine gearbox
A gas turbine engine according to an example of the present disclosure includes, among other things, a fan section, a compressor section, and a turbine section including a fan drive turbine that drives the fan through a gear reduction. The gear reduction includes at least two double helical gears in meshed engagement, each of the at least two double helical gears having a first plurality of gear teeth separated from a second plurality of gear teeth such that a first end of the first plurality of gear teeth and a first end of the second plurality of gear teeth are spaced apart by an axial distance.
