Three-way three-position control valve having a piezoelectric or magnetostrictive actuator, and fuel-injection system comprising the aforesaid valve
An electrically actuated control valve has three mouths and three operating positions, in which the three mouths includes a first mouth for inlet of a working fluid, and a second mouth and a third mouth for outlet of the working fluid. The three operating positions include a first operating position in which a passage of fluid from the first mouth to the second mouth and the third mouth is enabled, a second operating position in which a passage of fluid from the first mouth to only one of said second and third mouths is enabled, and a third operating position in which the passage of fluid from the first to the second mouth and the third mouth is disabled. The control valve includes an electric or electromagnetic actuator for controlling the passage of fluid from the first mouth to the second and third mouths providing the aforesaid three operating positions.

Vehicle fuel injector
A vehicle fuel injector is configured to inject a high-pressure vehicle fuel received from a fuel rail into a combustion chamber. The vehicle fuel injector includes a nozzle which includes a plurality of discharge flow paths which are disposed to be spaced apart from each other in a circumferential direction and pass through the nozzle in a longitudinal direction, and outward flow paths formed on an inner circumferential surface of the nozzle, the nozzle having a hollow shape, and a needle bar which is formed to pass through the inner circumferential surface of the nozzle and vertically reciprocally moves on the inner circumferential surface of the nozzle, where rotation of the needle bar is adjusted in a left or right direction so that the nozzle is opened or closed.
Fuel injection device
A fuel injection device is provided with a valve body, a nozzle needle, a movable plate, and a support spring. The valve body has a control chamber therein. The control chamber is defined by a defining wall which has a dividing wall portion. The dividing wall portion divides the control chamber into an accommodation chamber and a backpressure chamber. The accommodation chamber accommodates a movable plate and a support spring. A fuel pressure in the backpressure chamber is applied to the nozzle needle. The dividing wall portion has a restriction hole fluidly connecting the accommodation chamber and the backpressure chamber with each other, and a support surface supporting the support spring.

Fuel injector monitoring
A fuel system is disclosed. The fuel system may include at least one fuel injector, the at least one fuel injector having an injector body and one or more piezoelectric sensors located in the injector body. The fuel system may include a controller configured to: obtain, from the one or more piezoelectric sensors, one or more pressure measurements associated with a fuel injection process; determine a timing of the fuel injection process based on the one or more pressure measurements; determine an adjustment to the timing based on a comparison of the timing to a reference timing; and adjust the timing of the fuel injection process based on the determined adjustment.
A METHOD FOR MONITORING A COMMON-RAIL INJECTOR FOR LARGE DIESEL AND DUAL-FUEL ENGINES AND INJECTOR CONFIGURED TO IMPLEMENT THIS METHOD
A method for monitoring an injector for common-rail injection systems includes detecting an electrical signal indicative of a deformation of a diaphragm of a head plate having a reaction surface facing a control chamber of the injector and processing the deformation signal to determine characteristic data of the operation of the injector.
HIGH PRESSURE HYDRAULIC SYSTEM COMPRISING A SENSOR FOR NON-INVASIVE DIAGNOSTICS
A high pressure hydraulic system comprising: a hydraulic chamber containing pressurized fluid, a wall which encloses at least one part of the hydraulic chamber and has an integral diaphragm, a piezoelectric sensor isolated from the pressurized fluid contained in the hydraulic chamber by the diaphragm, and an elastic element arranged to apply an elastic force to the piezoelectric sensor, between the piezoelectric sensor and the diaphragm, so that a deformation of the diaphragm produced by a change in the pressure of the fluid contained in the hydraulic chamber causes a change in the elastic force that the elastic element applies to the piezoelectric sensor.
