Fuel Rail Assembly for an Internal Combustion Engine

A fuel rail assembly is disclosed. The fuel rail assembly includes an elongated tubular fuel rail and a plurality of fuel delivery lines for hydraulically coupling the fuel rail to fuel injectors. Each fuel delivery line has an injector cup, a pipe being arranged between the fuel rail and the injector cup, and a fixation bracket. A rigid connection is established between the fixation bracket and a portion of the pipe, the portion being spaced apart from each of the fuel rail and from the injector cup.

The injector cup, the pipe, and the fixation bracket are individual parts. The fixation bracket is spaced apart from the injector cup and from the fuel rail.

Fuel distributor

A fuel distributor, which is used, in particular, for fuel injection systems of mixture-compressing, internal combustion engines having externally supplied ignition, includes a distributor pipe, a first holder and at least one second holder. The distributor pipe has a longitudinal axis. In this connection, the first holder and the second holder are situated at the distributor pipe so as to be axially set apart from one another with respect to the longitudinal axis. The distributor pipe is designed to allow axial length compensation. It is also possible for at least one holder to be designed to allow axial length compensation.

Fuel Rail

An object of the present invention is to provide a fuel rail which can realize weight reduction while enhancing the strength of a cross-hole portion. A fuel rail for an internal combustion engine according to the present invention includes a cylindrical fuel rail body 1 and an injector mounting portion 2 in which a hole 2d to supply a fuel to an injector is formed, and the injector is mounted. The injector mounting portion 2 is integrally molded in the fuel rail body 1 such that the fuel supply hole 2d crosses a center hole 1a of the fuel rail body 1. plurality of injector mounting portions 2 is included along a longitudinal direction of the fuel rail body 1. A thickness of a root portion of the injector mounting portion 2 is thicker than a thickness of the fuel rail body 1 disposed between two adjacent injector mounting portions 2.

MONOLITHIC FUEL DELIVERY SYSTEM

A fuel distributor for a fuel injection system for mixture-compressing, spark-ignited internal combustion engines. The fuel distributor rail includes a tubular base body which is processed by forging. At the base body, a first high-pressure output, a second high-pressure output, and a third high-pressure output are provided. The second high-pressure output is situated in an offset manner opposite the first high-pressure output in a first direction along a longitudinal axis of the tubular base body at a predefined distance. The third high-pressure output is situated in an offset manner opposite the second high-pressure output in the first direction along the longitudinal axis at the predefined distance. A first and second holding element, which are used for an at least indirect fastening of the base body, are situated at the tubular base body.

Engine head structure

To provide an engine head structure for “omission or shortening a fuel pipe that withstands a high pressure”, “simplification or omission of a support bracket for a fuel accumulator and/or a fuel injection device”, “reduction of the number of parts” by devising a fuel accumulator and a support structure therefor, and the like. An engine head structure has a support bracket for mounting a fuel accumulator including a joining portion with a fuel injection device on a cylinder head, is disposed on a side of the fuel injection device or between adjacent fuel injection devices. The support bracket includes a member having a mounting portion on which the fuel accumulator is placed and mounted, a mounting leg portion extending from the mounting portion and mounted on the cylinder head, and an aligning leg portion extending from the mounting portion for positioning the support bracket with respect to the cylinder head.

Fuel distributor and pressure accumulator rail

A fuel distributor which has a pressure accumulator rail for receiving pressurized fuel. The pressure accumulator rail has a forged base body. Mounting supports are joined to the base body by substance bonding. A mounting support is formed by two metal brackets each configured as a sheet-metal formed part. Each metal bracket has a holding portion adapted to the outer contour of the base body, a leg angled relative to the holding portion, and a mounting flange on the free end of the leg and angled away therefrom. A length portion of the base body is received between the holding portions. The holding portions partially surround the base body. The base body and the holding portions are joined by substance bonding. The legs of the two metal brackets lie next to each other at least in regions and are also joined together by substance bonding.
