AIR INTAKE SYSTEM FOR A COMMERCIAL VEHICLE, IN PARTICULAR A TRUCK
An air intake system for a commercial vehicle is disclosed. The air intake system includes a hood with at least one frontal intake opening through which air to be guided to an engine of the commercial vehicle can flow and with at least one plenum configured to receive air flowing through the intake opening. The air intake system further includes at least one air pipe having at least one air duct with at least one inlet opening through which the air flowing through the frontal intake opening can flow, the air duct arranged upstream of and fluidically connected with the plenum so as to guide the air to and into the plenum. The air intake system additionally includes at least one air filter and at least one silencer plate arranged upstream of the air filter, the silencer plate having a plurality of through openings through which the air can flow.

The invention relates to an intake device for a compressor. The intake device comprises a support structure having a plurality of struts which are arranged in the circumferential direction about an axis of the support structure and extend in the radial direction. Furthermore, the intake device comprises a plurality of first sound-damping elements which are arranged in the radial continuation of the plurality of struts. In addition, the intake device comprises a plurality of second sound-damping elements, each of which is arranged between adjacent first sound-damping elements. The invention furthermore relates to an exhaust-gas turbocharger having the intake device according to the invention, and an internal combustion engine having an exhaust-gas turbocharger of this kind.

An air cleaner assembly comprises a filter element and a housing assembly. The filter element comprises a filter media for filtering a fluid and a first endcap positioned along a first end of the filter media and through which a first filtered air flow portion flows. The housing assembly at least partially contains the filter element and comprises a cover that defines a first outlet through which the first filtered air flow portion flows to a downstream device. The cover comprises a noise reduction device that receives the first filtered air flow portion and dissipates sound waves traveling upstream from the downstream device.

An air cleaner assembly comprises a filter element and a housing assembly. An air induction system includes an air duct and an air permeable membrane. The air duct is configured to deliver intake air to an engine. The air duct includes a cylindrical wall defining a bore and an enclosure projecting from an outer radial surface of the cylindrical wall and defining a cavity therein. The cylindrical wall has an opening extending therethrough that enables airflow from the bore to the cavity in the enclosure. The air permeable membrane is configured to cover the opening in the cylindrical wall.

An article of manufacture for providing an automobile turbocharging fitting is disclosed. A turbo fitting is a funnel shaped device that is attached to an outgoing airflow port of an air filter intake enclosure and secured into an air flow line running to the input to a throttle body of an internal combustion engine. The inner diameter of the turbo fitting is reduced from its width at the air filter enclosure to its exit diameter in the air flow line. Air directional devices, which may be raised tabs or grooves, running the length of the inner surface of the turbo fitting. These air directional devices are oriented in a clockwise direction when viewed into the turbo fitting from the air filter enclosure end.

In a saddle-ride type vehicle in which an intake device is arranged at a position covered by a fuel tank from above, the intake device including: an air cleaner; a connecting tube having an upstream end thereof connected to the air cleaner; a throttle device including a throttle valve and connected to a downstream end of the connecting tube; and a resonator, a curved portion bulged upward and curved in a chevron shape is formed in the connecting tube, and the resonator arranged between the fuel tank and the connecting tube is connected to the connecting tube on the air cleaner side further than a top portion of the curved portion as seen in a side view of the vehicle.
