In an opposed-piston engine, two or more fuel injectors are mounted to a cylinder for direct side injection into the cylinder. The injectors are controlled so as to inject either a single fuel pulse or a plurality of fuel pulses per cycle of engine operation in order to initiate combustion during varying engine speeds and operating conditions.

Stratified scavenging two-stroke internal combustion engine and carburetor thereof

A carburetor achieves better emission characteristics while improving a combustion state by increasing a delivery ratio of a stratified scavenging engine and reducing intake resistance. No dividing wall is provided between a throttle valve 204 and a choke valve 242, and a gap 244 between the valves 204 and 242 is opened. Intake air in both of an upper region and a lower region of the choke valve 242 flows into an air-fuel mixture passage 246 in a lower region of the fully-open throttle valve 204. A main nozzle 202 is arranged so as to be inclined toward the throttle valve 204.

INJECTION SYSTEM FOR TWO-STROKE ENGINES

An electronic injection two-stroke endothermic engine comprising an upper fuel injector (13) and a lower fuel injector (14), both accommodated in an intake duct (12) directly facing the cylinder (1), the latter closed by a head to form a combustion chamber (6) with one or more spark plugs (5) and connected to a pump-crankcase underneath via a plurality of side transfer ports (7, 8) which a central transfer port (15) is added to and crosses said intake duct (12) and allows the fuel sprayed by said lower injector (14) to reach the inside of the cylinder (1).

Two-stroke uniflow engine

A two-stroke uniflow engine is provided with: a cylinder; a piston; an exhaust valve that is opened and closed in order to discharge exhaust gas that is generated inside the cylinder; a scavenging port that takes active gas into the interior of the cylinder in accordance with a sliding movement of the piston; a fuel injection port that is provided in the internal circumferential surface of the cylinder; a fuel injection valve that injects fuel gas into the fuel injection port; and a fuel injection control unit that executes control of the injection of the fuel gas in the fuel injection valve, wherein the fuel injection control unit decides at least one of an injection pressure and an injection time of the fuel injection valve based on a change in pressure inside the cylinder that is caused by a reciprocating movement of the piston.

Internal combustion engine with fuel system

An internal combustion engine has a fuel system that has a fuel valve with a housing, wherein in the housing a fuel chamber is formed. A fuel pump pumps fuel from a fuel tank into the fuel chamber. A conveying pump provides forced conveyance of fuel into the fuel system. A feed line is connected to the fuel chamber of the fuel valve. The conveying pump is arranged in the feed line and supplies fuel to the fuel chamber. A relief line is connected to the fuel chamber of the fuel valve and a first valve is arranged in the relief line.

In an air intake-type two-stroke engine 10, an exhaust port 20, a scavenging port 22,etc. are opened and closed by a piston 12. A fuel injection valve 60 is disposed at an upper end portion 24a of a scavenging passage 24. The fuel injection valve 60 is preferably arranged with its axis Lax directed toward the scavenging port 22. The fuel injection timing is set to the latter half of the scavenging process or the latter half of the combustion process.
