Method and systems for active air fuel ratio control
Various methods and systems are provided for controlling emissions and a likelihood of engine knock during combustion in a multi-fuel engine. A method for an engine includes mixing an amount of a first fuel and an amount of a second fuel to combust a fuel mixture having a fuel ratio of the first fuel relative to the second fuel, the first fuel having a faster combustion flame speed relative to the second fuel, the fuel mixture having an air-to-fuel ratio with an amount of air delivered to the engine. The method further includes controlling either or both of a speed of combustion and a stability of combustion of the fuel mixture with the amount of air delivered to the engine by changing at least one of the fuel ratio, the air-to-fuel ratio, or both of the fuel ratio and the air-to-fuel ratio.

A charge forming device includes a body with a main bore through which air flows and a fuel inlet through which fuel enters the main bore. A diaphragm defines part of a fuel chamber that leads to a fuel passage. The valve body is received in the fuel passage and has a first end, a second end, a sidewall, a valve passage having an inlet into which fuel from the fuel chamber enters and an outlet from which fuel exits for delivery to the main bore, and a cross passage extending through the sidewall between the first end and the second end and opening into the valve passage. A valve is carried by the body and has a valve head received in the cross passage and extending into the valve passage to at least partially inhibit fuel flow through the valve passage.

A carburetor for a two-stroke internal combustion engine whereby airtightness is maintained and intake of uncombusted fuel into an air path is prevented. The carburetor includes a circular cylindrical valve hole and a rotary valve fitted into the valve hole such that it can rotate and is disposed perpendicularly across a fuel intake path and an air intake path which are formed substantially parallel with respect to each other, and a fuel supply-side bore which controls the flow rate along the fuel intake path and the air supply-side bore which controls the air capacity along the air path pass through part of the cylindrical portion perpendicularly to the axial direction of the rotary valve, and annular recesses formed in part of a circumferential wall of an outer circumference of the rotary valve so as not to correspond to at least the fuel supply-side bore and the air supply-side bore.

A carburetor for a two-stroke internal combustion engine whereby airtightness is maintained and intake of uncombusted fuel into an air path is prevented. CARBURETOR WITH ONE PIECE CHOKE VALVE AND SHAFT ASSEMBLY
A carburetor including a one piece choke valve and shaft assembly including a shaft, a detent plate formed on a first end, a lever arm formed on a second end, a pair of opposing collars formed adjacent the detent plate and lever arm, a valve plate centrally positioned on the shaft, and opposing splines formed on the shaft enabling it to be inserted through an assembly slot cut into a shaft bore in the carburetor body. The detent plate includes a partial annular slot encompassing the angular range of travel of the choke valve. First, second and third detent pockets are formed along an outer edge of the slot. A positive positioning pin engages or interacts with the detent plate to positively position the choke valve in first, second or third angular positions corresponding to close choke, half choke and open choke.
CARBURETOR WITH ONE PIECE CHOKE VALVE AND SHAFT ASSEMBLY
A carburetor including a one piece choke valve and shaft assembly including a shaft, a detent plate formed on a first end, a lever arm formed on a second end, a pair of opposing collars formed adjacent the detent plate and lever arm, a valve plate centrally positioned on the shaft, and opposing splines formed on the shaft enabling it to be inserted through an assembly slot cut into a shaft bore in the carburetor body. The detent plate includes a partial annular slot encompassing the angular range of travel of the choke valve. First, second and third detent pockets are formed along an outer edge of the slot. A positive positioning pin engages or interacts with the detent plate to positively position the choke valve in first, second or third angular positions corresponding to close choke, half choke and open choke.

A carburetor for a two-stroke internal combustion engine whereby airtightness is maintained and intake of uncombusted fuel into an air path is prevented.
