STARTER PULLEY ARRANGEMENT
20230123394 · 2023-04-20 ·

The present disclosure relates to a starter pulley arrangement for an internal combustion engine. The arrangement comprises a cord drum (1) configured to house a starting rope wound thereon, a driver (3) configured to interact with a flywheel (5) or other part connected to an engine crankshaft, and a torsion spring (7) connecting the cord drum (1) to the driver (3), such that the cord drum can resiliently urge the engine crankshaft via the driver. The torsion spring (7) is tensioned in a resting position where the driver does not influence the crankshaft. This provides an improved resistance against wear on the parts of the starter pulley arrangement.

Recoil starter

In a recoil starter that starts an engine, the recoil starter rotating a drive shaft of the engine using rotation force of a reel through a recoil rope wound around the reel, by the recoil rope being pulled, a ratchet claw is provided on the reel, the ratchet claw pivoting in a radial direction of the reel with rotation of the reel by the recoil rope and then engaging with a pulley provided on the drive shaft, a guide member is provided around a reel shaft, the guide member covering the ratchet claw, the reel shaft being a rotation shaft of the reel, and a rib is provided on the guide member, the rib abutting on the ratchet claw.

INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE WITH ELECTRIC STARTING SYSTEM

An engine including an engine block having a cylinder defining a front of the engine, a blower housing coupled to the engine block and defining a hot half positioned adjacent the front of the engine and a cool half opposite the hot half, and an electric starter system positioned within the blower housing. The electric starting system includes a starter mount assembly coupled to the blower housing, an electric starter motor retained by the starter mount assembly and positioned in the cool half, and a battery mounted to the blower housing and positioned in the cool half. The battery is electrically coupled to the electric starter motor.

Starting device for an internal combustion engine

The invention relates to a starting device (10) for an internal combustion engine, the starting device (10) comprising a hub (12; 70) configured to drivingly engage an internal combustion engine when the hub (12; 70) is rotated in a first direction (A); a pulley (14; 47; 60) interconnected with the hub (12; 70) by a spring (23; 41); a shaft (21) on which the pulley (14; 47; 60) and hub (12; 70) are mounted independently rotatable; a flexible member (16) attached to and coiled about the pulley (14; 47; 60); and where the spring (23; 41) coupled at a first end (26; 53) to the hub (12; 70) and at a second end (28; 54) to the pulley (14; 47; 60). The pulley (14; 47; 60) comprises a recess (15) arranged to receive the flexible member (16), which recess has the shape of a conical helix having a first end (15A) with a first diameter and a second end (15B) with a second diameter, larger than the first diameter; and is attached to the pulley (14; 47; 60) at the second end (15B).

Recoil starter

A recoil starter includes: a starter case provided with a reel support shaft; and a ratchet guide rotatably attached to the reel support shaft in a state in which a frictional resistance is applied. The ratchet guide includes: a through hole into which the reel support shaft is insertable; and a locking portion configured to be engaged with the reel support shaft on an inner periphery of the through hole. A movement of the ratchet guide in an axial direction of the reel support shaft is restricted in a state in which the locking portion is engaged with the reel support shaft.
