Systems and methods for limiting remote start functionality on vehicles
This disclosure describes systems and methods for limiting the functionality of remote start systems within vehicles. Remote start operations may be limited, for example, in response to exceeding one or more remote start limits. Limiting the remote start operations may include either preventing the initiation of a remote start request or ending an already in-progress remote start operation.
ISG control system for construction machine and ISG control method for construction machine
The present disclosure relates to an ISG control system and an ISG control method for a construction machine capable of controlling ISG even in a working state of a construction machine, the ISG control system including: a surrounding environment determinator configured to determine surrounding environment of the construction machine; and a vehicle controller configured to determine whether the construction machine is in a working state or a traveling state based on a determination result from the surrounding environment determinator, wherein the vehicle controller controls an engine based on a preset work ISG condition when it is determined that the construction machine is in the working state, and wherein the vehicle controller controls the engine based on a preset travel ISG condition when it is determined that the construction machine is in the traveling state.
Methods and system to increase available propulsive motor torque during an engine start
Systems and methods for starting an engine that may be started via an electric machine and a driveline disconnect clutch are described. In one example, the method estimates a maximum motor propulsive torque during engine starting. The maximum motor propulsive torque may be based on an estimated speed that a torque converter impeller speed will be when an engine cranking period ends.
Devices and methods for determining a vehicle alternator condition
Devices and systems for determining an alternator condition in a motor vehicle are provided. The method includes performing a plurality of micro wakeups to capture voltage values during a cranking event, determining the maximum cranking voltage and its timestamp, detecting an ignition signal, determining the maximum device voltage and its timestamp, and determining a potential alternator undercharging condition if a duration between the maximum cranking voltage timestamp and the maximum device voltage timestamp is greater than an undercharging indicator duration threshold. Advantageously, an alternator may be repaired or replaced before it fails thus averting having the motor vehicles inoperable.
Multi-function engine control and input system
An assembly for an engine includes a control module including a controller operable to control at least certain aspects of the operation of the engine, a display including an input connected to the controller, and a wireless receiver connected to the controller. The wireless receiver is arranged to receive a signal from a wireless device to cause the controller to send an engine start signal to cause starting of the engine and wherein the input when actuated causes the controller to send an engine start signal to cause starting of the engine. In at least some implementations, no keyed ignition switch is provided to start the engine and the engine is started only via the wireless device or the input.
Methods and system for inhibiting automatic engine stopping
A method and system for operating a vehicle that includes a plurality of engine starting devices and an internal combustion engine is described. In one example, the method determines whether or not to inhibit automatic engine stopping so that a lifespan of an engine starting device may be extended. In one example, the inhibiting is based on a ratio of an actual total number of engine starts generated via the engine starting device to an actual total distance traveled by the vehicle since the engine starting device was installed.
IGNITION SYSTEM WITH SINGLE ACTION START FAULT CORRECTION
A method of enabling operation of an ignition system for outdoor power equipment may include monitoring status of a plurality of switches associated with respective components of the equipment where at least one of the respective components corresponds to one or more binary start fault operators, and setting a start enabling status for the one or more 5 binary start fault operators responsive to actuation of a start fault clearance operator.
Engine control device
An engine control device applied to a vehicle equipped with an actuator for changing a suspension property of the vehicle, a suspension control device for driving the actuator, and an engine. The engine control device automatically stops the engine operation when a stop condition is satisfied and automatically starts the engine operation when a start condition is satisfied, continues the engine operation when a signal for inhibiting the automatic stop of the engine operation is sent to the engine control device in order to drive the actuator and the engine control device judges that no malfunction occurs in the suspension control device even if the stop condition is satisfied, and ignores the signal and automatically stops the engine operation when the stop condition is satisfied and judges that the malfunction occurs in the suspension control device even if the signal is sent to the engine control device.
Belt-integrated-starter-generator-assisted engine shutdown
A vehicle includes an engine including a crank shaft; a battery; a belt-integrated starter generator (BISG) mechanically coupled to the crank shaft and configured to generate electric power from motion of the engine to charge the battery; and a controller configured to operate the BISG to apply a load to the crank shaft to slow the engine and capture electric power for storage in the battery, wherein an initial magnitude of the load is proportional to a temperature of the engine, responsive to a speed of the BISG or engine achieving a predetermined non-zero threshold, remove the load from the crank shaft, and bring the engine to a stop.
