20170267243 · 2017-09-21 ·

A method for controlling restart of a vehicle is provided. The method includes allowing the vehicle to enter into an ISG state and allowing the vehicle to actuate the Auto Hold. Whether the vehicle fulfills a condition for releasing the Auto Hold is then determined and operation of the Auto Hold is released in response to determining that the vehicle fulfills the condition for releasing the Auto Hold. Additionally, the method includes determining whether the vehicle fulfills a condition for releasing the ISG and releasing the ISG and restarting an engine in response to determining that the vehicle fulfills the condition for releasing the ISG.

Vehicle system and method for remote start operation

A vehicle system and method for remote start operation in the vehicle system are provided. The method includes responsive to receiving a remote start request and while the vehicle is stationary, automatically engaging a wheel-arresting device coupled to a wheel in the vehicle. The method also includes when an electronically actuated clutch is automatically disengaged and subsequent to the automatic engagement of the wheel-arresting device, implementing remote start operation in an engine, where the wheel-arresting device is distinct from a secondary vehicle brake.

Supercapacitor control systems and methods

A battery and supercapacitor system of a vehicle includes a lithium ion battery (LIB) disposed within a housing. The LIB includes: an electrolyte including lithium; and first and second electrodes disposed in the electrolyte. A supercapacitor is disposed within the housing and includes: the electrolyte; and third and fourth electrodes disposed in the electrolyte.

Remote starting and stopping engine

A vehicle apparatus has a controller, a first key reader disposed in a cabin of the vehicle, and a second key reader disposed external of the vehicle, such as on an auxiliary equipment. The controller is configured to actuate an engine control unit upon receipt of an authenticated signal. The controller is configured to receive a signal from the first key reader when the vehicle apparatus is operable in a first mode, and the controller is configured to receive a signal from the second key reader when the vehicle apparatus is operable in a second mode.

METHOD FOR CONTROLLING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE, AND DEVICE FOR CONTROLLING INTERNAL COMBUSTION ENGINE

In an internal combustion engine, fuel injection is stopped to automatically stop the engine when automatic stop conditions are met. When there is a request to restart the engine while an engine speed is decreasing due to automatic stoppage, the engine is started by resuming fuel injection if the engine speed is equal to or greater than a combustion recoverable rotational speed threshold, at which restarting is possible only by fuel injection. When there is a request to restart the engine while an engine speed is decreasing due to automatic stoppage, the engine is started using a starter motor if the engine speed is less than the combustion recoverable rotational speed threshold. When there is a request to restart the engine in a brake ON state, the engine is not started by resuming fuel injection, but rotated and started using the starter motor.

Stop-in-gear auto-start control

A method of controlling the engine of a vehicle having a stop-in-gear (SIG) stop-start system includes: a control module determining that a brake is being applied, based on an output from a brake sensor, and that a transmission is in an in-gear position, based on an output from a transmission sensor; and, while the brake is applied and the transmission is in an in-gear position, the control module causing the engine to start in response to detecting movement of a clutch pedal towards a released position based on an output from a clutch pedal sensor.

Intermittent restart for automatic engine stop start system

A disclosed method of automatically stopping and restarting a vehicle engine determines if one or more stop/start enablement condition has been met. If the stop/start enablement condition or conditions have been met, the method initiates an engine shutdown. If a restart request is made before the engine reaches a predetermined threshold speed, then a first restart sequence is initiated. If a restart request is made when the engine speed is less than the predetermined threshold speed but still greater than 0, then a second restart sequence is initiated.

Methods and systems for an engine

Methods and systems are provided for an engine. In one example, a method of operating an engine of a vehicle, the vehicle comprising a brake pedal, a clutch pedal and a transmission having a neutral position and at least one in-gear position, comprises starting the engine if either the brake pedal of the vehicle is released or the transmission has been in neutral for a predetermined period of time, and the clutch pedal of the vehicle is depressed concurrently with the transmission being moved out of the neutral position into an in-gear position.

Control method for ISG of vehicle equipped with manual transmission

An idle stop and go (ISG) control method for a vehicle provided with a manual transmission includes: determining, by a controller, whether a first operation determination condition is satisfied based on a bottom signal from a clutch pedal sensor, a brake pedal operation signal, and a first vehicle speed signal condition; determining, by the controller, whether a second operation determination condition is satisfied based on the bottom signal, the brake pedal operation signal, and a second vehicle speed signal condition; stopping, by the controller, an engine of the vehicle when the first operation determination condition or the second operation determination condition is satisfied; determining, by the controller, whether a first restart condition is satisfied based on a top signal or the bottom signal from the clutch pedal sensor; and restarting, by the controller, the engine when the first restart condition is satisfied.

Control method for ISG of vehicle provided with manual transmission and vehicle of which the control method is applied

A control method of controlling an idle stop-and-go (ISG) function of a vehicle provided with a manual transmission includes: determining, by a controller, whether an ISG function activation condition is satisfied based on vehicle running state information of the vehicle; stopping an engine, by the controller, when the ISG activation condition is satisfied; determining, by the controller, whether a first starting condition in which a shift stage of the manual transmission is a neutral stage is satisfied; determining, by the controller, whether a second starting condition in which a shift stage of the manual transmission is a driving stage is satisfied; and restarting, by the controller, the engine when the first starting condition or the second starting condition is satisfied. The vehicle running state information includes: an operation information of the manual transmission and a clutch pedal, and current and recorded vehicle speeds of the vehicle.
