Method for controlling a corona ignition system of a cyclically operating internal combustion engine
A method for controlling a corona ignition system in which a corona discharge is produced at an ignition electrode by exciting a resonating circuit with an AC voltage produced by a high-frequency generator. The AC voltage is adjusted to a target value depending on an operating state of the engine. Combustion onset is determined by evaluating an electrical variable of the resonating circuit and the target value of the AC voltage is reduced by a predefined value following a predefined number of engine cycles or a predefined operating period. The determined combustion onset is evaluated in one or more engine cycles. The target value for the momentary engine operating state is then increased if, by evaluation of the combustion onset, it is found that a predefined requirement is no longer met. Otherwise, the reduced target value is stored as a new target value for the momentary engine operating state.
Clocking angle setting tool for a wire harness
There is described a clocking angle setting tool for a wire harness having a support arm provided with a clamp for attaching a harness cable of the wire harness to the support; arm, a connector receptacle for receiving a connector provided at the end of the harness cable and a key or keyway for engaging with a complementary keyway or key of the connector. The connector receptacle is spaced from the clamp and is rotatably mounted to the support arm. A locking mechanism for locking an angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm is included. The angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm determines a clocking angle of the connector relative to the harness cable.
Ignition device
An ignition device for an internal combustion engine, having a housing in which a crankshaft sensor is accommodated for detecting the rotational speed and/or the position of a crankshaft, which is in particular provided with a toothed position sensor and in which at least one ignition transformer with a primary winding is accommodated, and a secondary winding for generating a spark for the internal combustion engine is accommodated, wherein a number of input ports, in particular for the connection of an electrical energy source for supplying the or each ignition transformer and/or for supplying sensor and/or control signals, and in which a plurality of output ports, in particular for connecting at least one spark plug and/or for emitting control signals, are provided.
Ignition device
The return circuit of the ignition device returns to the battery the current supplied to the primary coil by the operation of the second circuit, and the voltage detection unit detects the voltage VB. The operation stopping unit monitors the voltage VB and when it is determined that the voltage VB is excessive, that is, when the voltage VB exceeds the threshold voltage VBc, it stops the supply of energy by the second circuit. As a result, when a load dump state occurs, the supply of energy by the second circuit can be stopped. Thus, when a load dump state occurs by the operation of the second circuit, other devices can be protected from overvoltage.

CLOCKING ANGLE SETTING TOOL FOR A WIRE HARNESS AND METHOD
There is described a clocking angle setting tool 24 for a wire harness comprising: a support arm 26 provided with a clamp 34 for attaching a harness cable of the wire harness to the support arm 26; a connector receptacle 32 for receiving a connector provided at the end of the harness cable and having a key or keyway for engaging with a complementary keyway or key of the connector, wherein the connector receptacle 32 is spaced from the clamp 34 and is rotatably mounted to the support arm 26; and a locking mechanism for locking an angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm; wherein the angular position of the connector receptacle relative to the support arm determines a clocking angle of the connector relative to the harness cable. A method of setting a clocking angle of a wire harness is also described.
Ignition control apparatus
An ignition control apparatus for engines is provided. The ignition control apparatus is designed to control a switch to release energy stored in a capacitor during spark discharge, thereby supplying a primary current to an other end side opposite a one end of a primary winding of an ignition coil connected to a dc power supply. This provides the ignition control apparatus which is capable of minimizing an increase in size or manufacturing cost and stabilizing the state of combustion of an air-fuel mixture.
