Mud motor assembly

A longer-lasting, lower cost, more powerful, all metal, mud motor than the presently available progressing cavity type mud motors for drilling boreholes into the earth. A mud motor apparatus possessing one single drive shaft that turns a rotary drill bit, which apparatus is attached to a drill pipe which provides high pressure mud to the mud motor, wherein the drive shaft receives at least a first portion of its rotational torque from any high pressure mud flowing through a first hydraulic chamber within the apparatus, and receives at least a second portion of its rotational torque from any high pressure mud flowing through a second hydraulic chamber within the apparatus. A typical mud motor apparatus possesses two or more hydraulic chambers, each having its own power stroke, and return stroke, which act together in a controlled fashion to provide continuous power to a rotary drill bit.

Scroll compressor with variable volume ratio port in orbiting scroll

A compressor may include a first scroll member, a second scroll member and a drive shaft. The first scroll member may include a first end plate defining a first discharge port and a first spiral wrap extending from the first end plate. The second scroll member may include a second end plate defining a first variable volume ratio port and a second spiral wrap extending from the second end plate and meshingly engaged with the first spiral wrap and forming compression pockets. The variable volume ratio port may be located radially outward relative to the first discharge port and in communication with a first compression pocket. The drive shaft may be engaged with the second scroll member and driving orbital displacement of the second scroll member relative to the first scroll member.

Compressor

A check valve includes a valve seat portion and a reed valve element and is received in a receiving hole of an intermediate pressure refrigerant supply passage that is placed adjacent to a flow inlet of an injection port, through which a refrigerant of an intermediate pressure is injected into a compression chamber. A center of the flow inlet of the injection port is offset from a central axis of a valve seat passage formed in the valve seat portion.

Co-rotating scroll compressor and method for designing the same

A co-rotating scroll compressor includes a driving-side scroll member (7), a driven-side scroll member (9), a pin ring mechanism (15), a driving-side bearing (11) that rotatably supports the driving-side scroll member (7), and a driven-side bearing (13) that rotatably supports the driven-side scroll member (9). A center of gravity of at least one of the driving shaft (6), the driving-side scroll member (7), and the driven-side scroll member (9) is shifted from rotation centers (CL1, CL2) by a predetermined distance. The predetermined distance is set so that a total bearing load obtained by centrifugal force and fluid compression that is 5% of a dynamic load rating of the driving-side bearing (11) and the driven-side bearing (13) or more is generated.
