NOISE REDUCTION ELEMENT AND A WIND TURBINE BLADE COMPRISING A NOISE REDUCTION ELEMENT
A noise reduction element extends between a first end and a second end in a first direction. The noise reduction element extends between a third end and a fourth end in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. The noise reduction element includes a base part configured to be attached to a trailing edge of a wind turbine blade. The base part has a first base part surface and a second base part surface. The base part extends between the first end and a first position in the first direction. The noise reduction element includes a first serration part having a serration pressure surface and a serration suction surface and extending in the first direction between the first position and the second end. The first serration part has a thickness in a third direction between the serration pressure surface and the serration suction surface.
Automatic-Aerodynamic Pitch Control for Wind Turbine Blade
A wind turbine rotor blade assembly which incorporates automatic-aerodynamic control of the blade pitch angle is disclosed. The airfoil of the rotor blade (110) is free to rotate about a strategically located longitudinal blade axis which forms the spar stub (115) and is connected to the hub (120) of a horizontal axis wind turbine. The location of this blade axis is precisely set with respect to the turbine blade's aerodynamic center and center of mass. By further incorporating a reflexed airfoil with positive pitching moment this arrangement aerodynamically induces an automatic and self-regulating alignment of the rotor blade pitch such that the airfoil is always operating at or near optimal angle of attack. Details are disclosed on these strategic relationships which enable the successful operation of the new blade design.
Method for producing a carbon fibre by recycling cotton
The invention concerns a method for producing a carbon fibre, that comprises a step of preparing a continuous fibre made of cellulose from cotton fabrics, by extracting, from these fabrics, cotton in the form of short, discontinuous fibres, and implementing a solvent spinning process; this step being followed by a step of carbonising said obtained continuous fibre made from cellulose, in order to form a carbon fibre. This carbon fibre can be used, in particular, for producing articles made from composite material made from carbon fibres and polymer organic resin.
Wind turbine rotor blade leading-edge protector
Provided is a leading-edge protector for a wind turbine rotor blade, including a curved body shaped for attachment to the rotor blade along at least a section of its leading edge; a plurality of fins, each fin extending radially outward from the curved body and terminating in a blunt outer face; and a plurality of reinforcement bands, wherein a reinforcement band is attached to the blunt outer face of a fin. Also provided is a method of manufacturing such a leading-edge protector.
Wind turbine blade and a method of manufacturing the wind turbine blade
This invention relates to a wind turbine blade component, a method of manufacturing such a wind turbine blade component and a wind turbine blade comprising the wind turbine blade component. The wind turbine blade component comprising a stack of layers arranged in a first group and in a second group, wherein the layers of each group has the same width. The layers of each group is continuously offset in an edgewise direction to form a tapered edge profile. The first group of layers may be arranged relative to the second group, or in an alternating order. The layers of the first group may further have a first length which is greater than a second length of the layers of the second group.
