DURABLE CANTED OFF-AXIS DRIVER FOR QUIET PNEUMATIC PUMPING
Apparatus and associated methods relate to nutating a piston drive linkage oriented around a longitudinal wobble axis in response to the rotation of a drive shaft about a drive axis, said wobble axis being offset and canted with respect to said drive axis. In an illustrative example, the piston drive linkage may be formed as a wobble plate extending radially from the wobble axis. Near a periphery, the wobble plate may attach to a plurality of stationary piston cranks. The nutating motion of the piston drive linkage may impart a substantially linear motion profile substantially parallel to the drive axis of rotation. A bearing oriented around the wobble axis may advantageously be freely inserted into and removed from an aperture in the wobble plate. An inner race of the bearing may freely rotate about the wobble axis in response to rotation about the drive axis.

Hydrostatic axial piston machine of swash plate construction
An axial piston machine has a swash plate and an adjusting device having an adjusting cylinder and a double-acting adjusting piston which is longitudinally movable in the adjusting cylinder and includes a piston and a piston rod, which is fixedly connected to the piston and is articulated to the swash plate. The joint between the adjusting piston and the swash plate is a movable swivel joint having a joint body receptacle on one part and a joint body on the other part of the adjusting piston and the swash plate. The joint body is closely guided in the joint body receptacle in the direction of movement of the adjusting piston, is rotatable about an axis of rotation running parallel to the pivot axis of the swashplate, and is movable with a directional component perpendicular to the direction of movement of the adjusting piston and perpendicular to the axis of rotation.

Valve plate arrangement for an axial piston pump
An axial piston pump may comprise a valve plate assembly including a plurality of valve plates rotatably disposed adjacent to each other and configured to control the flow of fluid between a piston chamber and inlet and outlet port passages. The piston pump may also comprise a swashplate arrangement that is capable of being angled in two different directions to be used in combination with the valve plate assembly. A fixed displacement axial piston pump may also comprise the valve plate assembly disclosed herein in which pressure transitions are facilitated in the same fashion, but without the variable of changing swashplate angles which control pump flow.
Pump having a passage extending between a cam plate oil reservoir and a bearing oil reservoir
A pump includes a cam plate, and an input shaft for rotationally driving the cam plate. A pump housing at least partially surrounds the cam plate and defines a cam plate oil reservoir around at least a portion of the cam plate. A bearing support is at least partially disposed within the cam plate oil reservoir. The bearing support defines a bearing oil reservoir at least partially surrounding a portion of the input shaft. At least one passage extends between the bearing oil reservoir and the cam plate oil reservoir. Dynamic motion imparted on oil within the cam plate oil reservoir facilitates migration of oil from the cam plate oil reservoir through a bearing at least partially supported by the bearing support into the bearing oil reservoir and through the at least one passage into the cam plate oil reservoir.
Stress reduction in hydrostatic cradle bearing
In a piston pump assembly, cradle bearings support a swash plate on an inner surface of a housing assembly. The cradle bearing and/or the corresponding portion of the housing inner surface may have undercut portions allowing deflection of an inward portion of the cradle bearing when the swash plate is subjected to pressure forces from hydraulic fluid compressed within pump cylinders by the pump pistons. Deflection of the cradle bearings allows increased contact pressure to be further distributed across the engaging surfaces of the swash plates and the cradle bearings.
