Laminated membrane for membrane pump
A diaphragm for a pump has a one-piece elastomeric body centered on an axis and formed with an annular outer clamping edge, an annular flexible web extending radially inward from the outer edge, and a core joined by the web to the outer edge and formed in turn by an upper wall and a lower wall axially spaced therefrom. This lower wall is formed on the axis with a throughgoing hole. An insert between the walls extends through the hole, and interengaging formations on the insert and on the lower wall radially couple the insert to the lower wall at an inner edge of the hole.
Rotary diaphragm positive displacement pump
A rotary pump comprising a housing (1) defining an annular chamber with inlet and outlet ports (12;11) spaced apart around the chamber, a flexible annular diaphragm (3) forming one side of the chamber spaced opposite an annular wall of the housing (1), the diaphragm (3) being sealed at its edges to the housing (1), a partition (13) extending across the chamber from a location between the inlet and outlet ports (12;11) to the diaphragm (3). The diaphragm (3) is configured to be pressed progressively against the opposite wall of the housing (1) to force fluid drawn in at the inlet port (12) on one side of the partition (13) around the chamber and to expel it at the outlet port (11) at the other side of the partition (13). The outer face of the annular diaphragm (3) has a trough (40) at the part of the diaphragm (3) which faces the inlet port (12) and/or at the part of the diaphragm 3 which faces the outlet port (11).
High-Pressure Compressor and System with a High-Pressure Compressor
A high-pressure compressor and a system with a high-pressure compressor are described. In one example, the high-pressure compressor has a housing that surrounds at least one compressor chamber and a media chamber, wherein the compressor chamber and the media chamber are separated from one another in the housing via a diaphragm. The housing has at least one first connection, which opens into the media chamber and via which a medium can be introduced into and/or discharged from the media chamber. The housing has at least one second connection, which opens into the compressor chamber (330) and via which a gas or gas mixture can be introduced and/or discharged. The diaphragm is made of metal or a metal alloy and is deformable to compress a gas or gas mixture that can be introduced into the compressor chamber by introducing a medium into the media chamber.
METERING DIAPHRAGM PUMP COMPRISING A PROTECTIVE MEMBRANE
A metering diaphragm pump includes a metering chamber, a working chamber and a metering membrane. The metering chamber and the working chamber are separated from one another by the metering membrane. A device for moving the metering membrane back and forth between a first and a second position is provided. The volume of the metering chamber is smaller in a first position than in the second position, and a protective membrane is disposed next to the metering membrane on the working chamber side.
Disposable Alternating Tangential Flow Filtration Units
Disclosed herein are robust disposable alternating tangential flow (ATF) housing and diaphragm pump units and associated methods of manufacturing, testing, wetting, and using the same.
Methods of metering delivery of caustic soda for treatment of water
Described is a method for treating water with sodium hydroxide. The method can increase the accuracy of the volume of a stock sodium hydroxide solution that is delivered to the water being treated. The method can include pumping a concentrated aqueous sodium hydroxide stock solution with a diaphragm pumping system that has a two-part diaphragm assembly with a polymeric diaphragm overmolded onto a rigid insert. The polymeric diaphragm can be made of a fully-vulcanized ethylene propylene diene monomer rubber that is injection molded over the rigid insert.
Self-regulating bimetallic diaphragm pump
A system, method apparatus including a bimetallic mechanical pump diaphragm for fluid handling including two walls forming a chamber divided by a snap-acting bimetallic mechanical diaphragm which uses the rapid, concavity inversing, buckling transition of the diaphragm pump fluid as thermal energy in a first fluid is converted to mechanical energy to push a second fluid as the diaphragm moves from a first position to a second position in the chamber. Two sets of inlet and outlet passageways include one way valves to control the flow of the first and second fluids having different temperatures.
Diaphragm assembly for a pulsatile fluid pump
A diaphragm assembly for a pulsatile fluid pump includes an edge-mounted flexible diaphragm, the diaphragm configured for operation cyclically between a diastole mode and a systole mode. The diaphragm assembly further includes a systolic distribution brace having an interior wall configured to cup a portion of the outside surface of the diaphragm, and a diastolic plate, embedded in the diaphragm, mechanically coupled to a portion of the inside surface of the diaphragm. In the course of the systole mode, force is applied across the maximum radial extent of the systolic distribution brace, so as to impart tension in the diaphragm around the periphery of the systolic distribution brace. In the course of the diastole mode, force is applied across the maximum radial extent of the diastolic plate, so as to impart tension in the diaphragm around the diastolic plate.
Rotary diaphragm positive displacement pump
A rotary pump comprising a housing (1) defining an annular chamber with inlet and outlet ports (12;11), a flexible annular diaphragm (3) forming one side of the chamber spaced opposite an annular wall of the housing (1), and a partition (13) extending across the chamber. The diaphragm (3) comprises an outer surface which engages the annular wall of the housing (1), and an inner surface opposite the first surface, wherein the outer surface is configured to be pressed progressively against the opposite wall of the housing (1), by a rotating means, to force fluid around the chamber. The rotary pump also comprises a reinforcement ring (4) surrounding the rotating means, and which comprises an embedded portion (30) embedded in an inner portion of a central region of the diaphragm (3), and a support portion (34) having a radially outwardly facing surface (35) which faces and supports the inner surface of the diaphragm (3) adjacent to the reinforcement ring (4) during operation of the rotary pump.
Disposable pump chamber for an infusion pump
An apparatus, including a pump body having an internal shaft, and a piston disposed within the shaft and having a piston head that includes a first ferromagnetic element. The apparatus also includes a motor coupled to drive a reciprocal longitudinal motion of the piston within the shaft, and a pump chamber configured to be removably attached to the pump body and having a rigid wall defining a fluid inlet, a fluid outlet, and an aperture. The apparatus additionally includes a flexible diaphragm fixed across the aperture and having a second ferromagnetic element, which engages the first ferromagnetic element when the pump chamber is attached to the pump body so that the reciprocal longitudinal motion of the piston causes alternating stretching and contraction of the flexible diaphragm, thereby modifying a volume of the pump chamber.
