Pumping System
20180010594 · 2018-01-11 ·

Provided is a pumping system that includes a parallel dual chamber pumping mechanism and an attachable disposable cassette. The disposable cassette includes a multi-laminate membrane which facilitates efficient, accurate and uniform delivery of fluids. The multi-laminate membrane is held in intimate contact with the pumping fingers of the pumping mechanism by electrostatic or magnetic attraction, thereby allowing the pump to pull a vacuum without the need for a preloaded elastomeric pumping segment.

The pump further includes a plurality of inlet valves each located within one of the pump chambers to control fluid flow from the inlet port to the pump chambers. The pump also includes a plurality of outlet valves that control fluid flow from the pump chambers to the outlet port. A wobble plate is coupled to a diaphragm and a plurality of pistons. The diaphragm has at least one flex area with a leading edge and a trailing edge. The diaphragm has a plurality of diaphragm piston openings each with a diaphragm piston opening centerline. The wobble plate has a plurality of wobble plate piston openings, each wobble plate piston opening having a wobble plate piston open centerline that is offset from one of diaphragm piston opening centerlines.

Dense phase pump with easily replaceable components

A dense phase pump has two housings that are attached together using a single releasable fastener. The fastener can be released to allow the two housings to be separated thereby providing access to replaceable components. The replaceable components may include one or more pinch valves or one or more barrier elements. A pinch valve for a dense phase pump has a shape or profile for aligning the pinch valve when the pinch valve is installed in a pinch valve body. The pinch valve optionally has two end flanges, with each end flange having a shaped periphery. The two end flanges may have the same size and shape so that the pinch valve can be installed in either of two orientations that are inverse. A dense phase pump has a pump chamber that can be purged by purge gas that enters the pump off-axis from a purge path axis.

FLUID DRIVEN DIAPHRAGM PUMP

In at least some implementations, a method of forming a diaphragm for a liquid pump, includes clamping a substantially planar piece of material about a periphery, and plastically deforming the piece of material inboard of the clamped periphery. In at least some implementations, the material is plastically deformed by pressing a forming member against the material, or the material is plastically deformed by applying a fluid under pressure against the material.

The present invention relates to an undulating-membrane fluid circulator having an intake port (3), a pump housing (4) delimiting a propulsion chamber (5), a discharge port (6), and an undulating membrane (2) paired with a drive means permitting an undulating movement of the membrane (2) between the upstream (8) and downstream (9) edges thereof, the undulating membrane (2) being capable of moving a fluid towards the discharge port (6). According to the invention, the circulator further comprises at least one means (7) for guiding the fluid, said means being disposed in the fluid propulsion chamber (5) near one of the edges (8, 9) of the undulating membrane (2) and making it possible to channel the fluid flow in a direction substantially parallel to the displacement of the wave along the membrane (2).

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MOUNTING A DIAPHRAGM OF A PUMP
20220372969 · 2022-11-24 ·

A double diaphragm pump includes multiple diaphragms that are mounted for reciprocation. The diaphragms are connected for simultaneous movement to form a diaphragm assembly. A first one of the diaphragms is clamped between a housing cover and a center section. A pumping chamber is formed between the first diaphragm and the cover. Pressure in the first pumping chamber is decreased to draw the diaphragm assembly towards the first fluid cover, thereby drawing the second diaphragm into a mounting position relative to the center section. A second cover is then mounted to the center section to clamp the second diaphragm between the second cover and the center section.
