High-density powder pump
The present invention concerns a pump for high-density powder transfer. The pump for high-density powder transportation according to the present invention has four-stroke operation, in which four pumping chambers in reality constitute a system of two pairs of chambers in line with each other. This makes it possible to divide the overall flow rate per minute over four tanks. Each of the four tanks has a reduced capacity, to the benefit of the compactness of the pump and the reduction of the loading/emptying times of the single tank, by exploiting the fluid-dynamic principle of communicating vessels the system of pairs of chambers in line increases the overall powder storage volume, thanks to a constant depression.
Foam pump and dispenser employing same
A foam pump has dual, coaxial air and liquid cylinders, each having a respective air and liquid piston which move together during a dispensing operation. One or more air passageways between the air cylinder and a liquid-air mixing chamber are configured to impart rotation to an airstream passing from the air cylinder to the mixing chamber to increase turbulent mixing of the air and liquid in the mixing chamber. The liquid cylinder is axially aligned with the air cylinder to provide a low profile pump which does not require a dip tube or sleeve to communicate with the bottom of the liquid source when used in an inverted application wherein the foam pump is positioned below the source of liquid. A resilient valve member in the liquid outlet is biased to close on its own to prevent leaking in the event the air and liquid pistons do not fully return to the home position.
BLOOD TREATMENT SYSTEM HAVING BACKFLOW PREVENTION
A medical fluid pumping system includes a medical fluid pump for pumping a process fluid, the medical fluid pump including a first pump chamber, a first inlet valve chamber including a first inlet valve diaphragm, a first outlet valve chamber, a second pump chamber, a second inlet valve chamber including a second inlet valve diaphragm, and a second outlet valve chamber; and a medical fluid chassis operable with the medical fluid pump, the medical fluid chassis including a motive fluid source providing motive fluid at a motive fluid pressure, and wherein the first and second inlet valve diaphragms are configured to actuate from an open to a closed position at a pressure less than the motive fluid pressure to mitigate process fluid backflow through the first and second inlet valves.
Blood treatment system having pulsatile blood intake
A blood treatment system includes (i) a blood pump including a first blood pump chamber operable with a first inlet valve and a first outlet valve, and a second blood pump chamber operable with a second inlet valve and a second outlet valve; (ii) an arterial blood line; (iii) a dialyzer placed in fluid communication with the arterial blood line, wherein the blood pump is provided along the arterial blood line upstream of the dialyzer; and (iv) a venous blood line extending downstream from the dialyzer. The system also includes a processor configured to sequence the first and second blood pump chambers so as to achieve a pulsatile pattern of filling the first and second blood pump chambers and an at least substantially constant pattern of discharging blood from the first and second blood pump chambers to the dialyzer.
Diaphragm pumps and pumping systems
A process fluid pump can include a pump chamber, an inlet valve, and an outlet valve. Diaphragm regions can define at least a portion of each of the pump chamber, the inlet valve, and the outlet valve. The diaphragm regions can each have an actuation region with a surface that is convexly shaped when the formed actuation region is in a natural unstressed first state, and each formed actuation region can be actuated by a motive fluid to transition to a second state in which the surface is non-convexly shaped.
Medical fluid pumping system including pump and machine chassis mounting regime
A medical fluid pumping system includes (i) a medical fluid pump including a pump chamber, inlet and outlet valve chambers in fluid communication with the pump chamber, the pump chamber associated with a pumping chamber motive fluid connection, the inlet valve chamber associated with an inlet valve motive fluid connection, and the outlet valve chamber associated with an outlet valve motive fluid connection; and (ii) a medical fluid chassis including a motive fluid source, and a first motive fluid connecting structure, a second motive fluid connecting structure, a third motive fluid connecting structure. The pumping chamber motive fluid connection, the inlet valve motive fluid connection, and the outlet valve motive fluid connection are translated simultaneously to mate respectively with the first motive fluid connecting structure, the second motive fluid connecting structure, and the third motive fluid connecting structure for fluid communication with the motive fluid source.
Medical fluid delivery device actuated via motive fluid
A medical fluid delivery device includes a process fluid body including first and second sides defining a first process fluid inlet valve seat and a first process fluid outlet valve seat and a second process fluid inlet valve seat and a second process fluid outlet valve seat; a first motive fluid plate defining a first aligned motive fluid inlet valve actuation area and a first aligned motive fluid outlet valve actuation area; and a second motive fluid plate defining a second aligned motive fluid inlet valve actuation area and a second aligned motive fluid outlet valve actuation area. The device further includes a first inlet valve diaphragm disposed between the first motive fluid inlet valve actuation area and the first process fluid inlet valve seat; and a first outlet valve diaphragm disposed between the first motive fluid outlet valve actuation area and the first process fluid outlet valve seat.
Medical fluid therapy machine including pneumatic pump box and accumulators therefore
A medical fluid delivery machine including: a medical fluid pump including a pneumatically actuated pump chamber and first and second pneumatically actuated medical fluid valve chambers located respectively upstream and downstream of the pneumatically actuated pump chamber; a compressor for creating positive pressure air; and an accumulator storing the positive pressure air for delivery to at least one of the pneumatically actuated pump chamber, the first pneumatically actuated medical fluid valve chamber, or the second pneumatically actuated medical fluid valve chamber, the accumulator holding an elastic bladder that inflates under positive pressure air from the compressor, creating additional positive pressure that increases the amount of positive pressure air that the accumulator can provide.
