Systems and methods for piston rod monitoring

A sensor system for monitoring a condition of a piston rod includes an interrogator system having a first coil winding coupled to a housing and radially spaced from the piston rod such that a gap is defined between the first coil winding and the piston rod. A second coil winding is coupled to the piston rod and is inductively coupled to the first coil winding. The second coil winding is configured to communicate with the first coil winding through a range of linear movement of the piston rod relative to the housing. A sensor is coupled to the second coil winding. The sensor is configured to measure a characteristic associated with the piston rod and generate a current in the second coil winding to transmit, via the inductive coupling with the first coil winding, an electrical output signal associated with the characteristic to the interrogator system.

WELL SERVICE PUMP SYSTEM JOINT

A well service pump system for supplying working fluid to a well, the pump system having structural joint coupled to and extending between the housing of a hydraulic ram cylinder and the housing of a working fluid end cylinder that maintains the distance between the housings and stabilizes the housings relative to one another without interfering with the operation of the pump system. The structural joint further permits the use of minimal supporting structures for securing the hydraulic ram cylinder and working fluid end cylinder to a surface, such as the bed of a trailer.

CRYOGENIC PUMP
20230093093 · 2023-03-23 ·

A pump for pumping a cryogenic liquid includes a pump housing having a cylinder with a piston slidably positioned therein. An intermediate fluid chamber that receives an intermediate fluid is defined within the cylinder adjacent to a first end of the piston and a fluid pumping chamber is defined within the cylinder adjacent to a second end of the piston. An intermediate fluid seal is attached to the piston and engages the cylinder. A pumped fluid seal attached to the piston and configured to engage the cylinder, said pumped fluid seal spaced from the intermediate fluid seal so that a differential pressure space is defined within the cylinder between the intermediate fluid and pumped fluid seals. A differential pressure vent valve is in fluid communication with the differential pressure space. A differential pressure switch senses a pressure within the differential pressure space and opens the differential pressure vent valve when the pressure within the differential pressure space reaches a predetermined pressure level.

ADDING SYSTEM FOR FIRE-EXTINGUISHING UNITS
20220339480 · 2022-10-27 ·

An adding system for fire-extinguishing units is disclosed for producing a mixture of extinguishing agent and extinguishing agent additive (premix) by adding an extinguishing agent additive, e.g., a foaming agent, to an extinguishing agent, e.g., water, the adding system comprising a motor, which can be driven by the extinguishing agent stream, an adding pump, which can be driven by the motor, an adding line, and an extinguishing agent additive line. The invention increases the operational reliability of an adding system for fire-extinguishing units by the outer wall of the working chamber of the motor being in the form of a rotation motor, which can also have the shape of a logarithmic spiral. Furthermore, the wall of the drainage housing of the motor, which is in the form of a rotation motor, can have a through-slot for letting the extinguishing agent in and/or out. Moreover, the inlet of the adding pump can be arranged such that the extinguishing agent additive can flow into the adding pump substantially parallel to the movement direction of the pistons of the adding pump. Finally, the adding pump can have an integrated relief valve.
