Pulsation phenomenon suppression mechanism of pump device
11578719 · 2023-02-14 · ·

A first communication groove (38) extending from a start point of a discharge port (36) in a direction opposite to rotation direction of vanes (22) is formed. A first end portion (38E) of this groove is connected to the start point of the discharge port (36). When a front-side vane in a rotation direction of a driving shaft (11) is positioned at the start point of the discharge port (36), a second end portion (38S) of the groove is positioned at a rear side in the rotation direction with respect to a rear-side vane coming immediately after the front-side vane, and communicates with a suction port (35). A part of working fluid in a front-side pump chamber (27-1) can therefore be introduced into a rear-side pump chamber (27-2) that communicates with the suction port (35), thereby lessening excessive pressure increase of the front-side pump chamber (27-1) and suppressing pulsation phenomenon.

A variable displacement vane pump has a control slide displaceable within its housing and a first control chamber and a second control chamber for receiving pressurized lubricant. A thermally adjustable control valve is provided in the housing for adjusting pump displacement based on a temperature of the lubricant. In addition to fluid communication channels in the control chambers, at least one vent port is provided in the second chamber. The control valve is configured to control pressure and fluid communication between the chambers along with the control slide. The control valve can help reduce pump displacement at lower temperatures and low engine speeds. At lower temperatures, the second control chamber can be pressurized by the first control chamber. At higher temperatures, the second control chamber can be vented through the control valve and/or the vent port, despite the position of the control slide.

A pump having an adjustable delivery volume, including: a pump housing featuring a delivery chamber which includes a delivery chamber inlet for a fluid and a delivery chamber outlet for the fluid; a delivery member, which can be rotated within the delivery chamber, for delivering the fluid; an adjusting device featuring a setting structure, which is mounted such that it can move back and forth within the pump housing in order to adjust the delivery volume of the pump, and a helical spring for applying a spring force, which acts in a setting direction, to the setting structure, wherein the windings of the helical spring are enclosed by an envelope lying on the outside of the helical spring wherein the cross-sectional area of the envelope as measured transversely with respect to the longitudinal direction of the spring changes progressively in the longitudinal direction of the spring.

Spool valve used in a variable vane pump

A variable displacement vane pump is described. The pump includes a control chamber provided between a housing and a control slide. A pressure-controlled relief valve is in fluid communication with the outlet path and moves to block or unblock a relief port based on output pressure of the lubricant. A feedback channel fluidly connects the control chamber to an inlet path of the pump. The feedback channel further connects to a control port that is connected to a main control valve. The relief valve and control valve are distinct and not fluidly connected. The relief valve moves once the pressure in the outlet path exceeds a predetermined amount, opening the relief port, and thus delivers a portion of the output lubricant to the control chamber via the relief port, thereby pressurizing the control chamber and reducing eccentricity of the pump by displacing the control slide.

A fuel pump includes a cam arrangement surrounding a rotor and disposed within a spacer ring. The cam arrangement is configured to deterministically translate relative to the spacer ring and the rotor during stroking of the pump. An involute gear set provides an interface between the cam arrangement and the spacer ring. In some cases, the involute gear set is configured to provide a linear translation of the cam arrangement along a timing line. In other cases, the involute gear set is configured to provide a linear translation of the cam arrangement at an angle relative to the timing line.

A rotary pump including: a pump housing including a delivery chamber, having an inlet and an outlet for a fluid; a delivery member which can be rotated about a rotational axis in the delivery chamber in order to deliver the fluid; a setting structure which can be moved translationally back and forth in the pump housing relative to the delivery member in and counter to a setting direction in order to adjust the delivery volume of the rotary pump; a setting device for generating a setting force which acts on the setting structure in the setting direction; a restoring spring for exerting a restoring force which acts on the setting structure counter to the setting direction; and an additional spring for exerting an additional force which acts on the setting structure in or counter to the setting direction.

Pressure relief valve integrated in pivot pin of pump

Disclosed is a pump for dispensing lubricant to a system. The pump includes: a housing having an inlet for inputting lubricant into the housing and an outlet for delivering the lubricant therefrom. A control slide is pivotable about a pivot pin within the housing in a displacement increasing direction and a displacement decreasing direction to adjust pump displacement. A resilient structure biases the control slide in the displacement increasing direction. A pressure relief valve is mounted to the pivot pin and positioned along an outflow path leading pressurized lubricant from the control slide to the outlet. The pressure relief valve is biased in a closing direction and has a pressure receiving surface receiving pressure from the lubricant in the outflow path to urge the pressure relief valve in an opening direction. Opening the relief opening allows outflow of lubricant to relieve pressure in the outflow path.

Variable displacement vane pump with improved pressure control and range

An arrangement of a variable capacity vane pump for an automobile is provided that includes a pump housing having an outlet and inlet. A pump control ring is provided having a cavity. The control ring is positioned within the housing to move about a pivot. A vane pump rotor is positioned within the cavity of the pump control ring.
