A scroll pump includes first and second scroll members connected together by a plurality of idler assemblies configured to allow the second scroll member to move in an orbital path with respect to the first scroll member. A rotary bearing is connected to an end plate of the orbiting scroll member. A motor and motor coupler are coupled to the rotary bearing to move the bearing in an orbital path corresponding to the orbital path followed by the second scroll member. The rotary bearing may roll freely within the coupler.

Clearance adjustment for twin-screw pumps

Technologies are generally described for clearance adjustments in twin-screw pump assemblies. A twin-screw pump assembly may include a conically shaped portion of a drive shaft enveloped by a bushing. For clearance adjustment, both clamping nuts of the drive shaft, which provide pretention to the bushing and secure an axial position of a threaded screw to the drive shaft, may be removed on the flow side of the pump assembly and the bushing loosened to adjust the angularity between bushing and drive shaft. The bushing may then be pushed over the conically shaped portion and both clamping nuts re-assembled. In some examples, a clamping nut of the driven shaft may be designed and used as removal/loosening tool for the drive shaft bushing.

METHOD AND SYSTEM WITH HIGH SPEED MOTOR AND SPEED LIMITED PUMP

Systems and methods are provided for pump systems that deliver optimized performance and efficiency. A method includes selecting a pump for the pump system. A maximum operating speed of the pump is determined, and its torque requirements are evaluated. A motor is selected to meet the torque requirements and a speed target is set for the motor. A speed reducer is sized for operation of the motor at the speed target and operation of the pump below the maximum speed, and the motor is coupled with the pump through the speed reducer.

Gerotor pump for a vehicle

A gerotor pump is provided with a body defining a chamber with cylindrical wall sections and having a fluid inlet and a fluid outlet, and a cover. An internally toothed gear member is supported for rotation within the chamber about a first axis, and has a cylindrical outer wall defining a series of grooves. Each groove has an associated aperture extending through the gear member to an inner surface of the gear member, and is radially positioned between adjacent teeth of the internally toothed gear member. An externally toothed gear member is rotatably supported within the internally toothed gear member about a second axis spaced apart from the first axis, and is coupled for rotation with a drive shaft. The internally toothed gear member and externally toothed gear member cooperate to form a plurality of variable volume pumping chambers therebetween to pump fluid.

A stepping motor-driven system includes a stepping motor, an output device, and a belt and pulley system operably coupling the stepping motor with the output device to impart rotation therebetween. The belt and pulley system includes an input pinion engaged with the stepping motor, an output pinion engaged with the output device, and a timing belt. The timing belt is disposed about the input and output pinions, inhibits elongation, and defines a plurality of spaced-apart grooves on an inwardly-facing surface thereof that are wider than the teeth of the pinions and are configured to receive the teeth of the pinions in meshed engagement therewith. As a result, a gap is defined within each groove. The gaps permit backlash of the timing belt in response to changes in a rotational speed input to the belt and pulley system from the stepping motor, thereby inhibiting loss of control.
