The present invention relates to rotary screw positive displacement machines used as a vacuum pump wherein additional intake air is provided allowing cooling to the invention which permits extended operation at extreme vacuum pressure. The rotary screw nature of the vacuum pump allows operation without additional lubrication with the additional intake air ensuring that thermal expansion will not disrupt the tight tolerances of the invention. The invention allows simultaneous operation as a vacuum pump and air compressor.

The present invention concerns a dry vacuum pump comprising: a drive device (1) comprising a drive shaft (3) at one end of which is fixed at least one drive wheel (4) provided to set in motion at least one belt (5); at least two parallel rotors (7, 8) each having a shaft (9, 10) provided with a rotor element (11, 12), this shaft (9, 10) being able to be driven in rotation by the belt (5) and being equipped at one of its axial ends with a toothed wheel (13, 14), this pump having the special features that: the drive wheel (4) and the belt (5) are smooth; each shaft (9, 10) of the rotor (7, 8) comprises at least one smooth section (16, 17) arranged to co-operate with the belt (5), and the toothed wheels (13, 14) of the shafts (9, 10) of the rotor (7, 8) are dimensioned and arranged to mesh with one another.

Screw pump

The invention relates to a screw pump having two screws, in which screw pump each screw has a first thread and a second thread. The threads extend in each case from a suction side to a delivery side. The threads are in engagement with one another, with the result that the threads are divided into a plurality of working chambers, the volume of which decreases from the suction side to the delivery side. According to the invention, the threads have two thread turns. Moreover, the invention relates to a screw for a pump of this type. On account of the uniform distribution of mass of the two-turn threads, the pump can be operated at a high rotational speed, with the result that the throughput of the pump is increased.

An electrical motor vehicle vacuum pump arrangement includes a housing assembly, a pump apparatus arranged therein, a drive motor, and a sound dampener. The housing assembly includes an inlet and an outlet opening arrangement. The pump apparatus includes a pump rotor housing with an inlet- and an outlet-side face wall, and a pump rotor housing part arranged therebetween. The inlet- and the outlet-side face wall and the pump rotor housing part enclose a pump rotor chamber with a pump rotor arranged therein. The drive motor is arranged in the housing assembly. The drive motor includes a motor rotor and a motor stator. The sound damper includes a first and a second sound damping chamber, and a sound dampener element. The first sound damping chamber is connected to the pump rotor chamber and to the second sound damping chamber. The second sound damping chamber is connected to the outlet opening arrangement.

An oil-free screw compressor includes: a casing having a rotor chamber; a bearing supporting rotary shafts of the screw rotors; a shaft seal device including an oil seal portion and an air seal portion; an atmosphere open hole formed in the shaft seal device; at least one communication hole formed in the rotary shaft; and an annular space communicating the atmosphere open hole with the at least one communication hole communicate with each other. The annular space includes an inner peripheral annular space formed on an inner peripheral side of the casing. Assuming an open cross-sectional area of the inner peripheral annular space as S1, a total open cross-sectional area of the communication holes as S2, an open cross-sectional area of the i-th communication hole out of the communication holes as S2i, and the number of communication holes as n (n being a natural number of 1 or more), a following relationship is satisfied.
