A fluid machine includes: a shaft portion; a shroud surrounding the shaft portion and including an inside surface that forms a flow path-forming surface defining a flow path with the shaft portion; a first propeller rotatably provided in the flow path; a second propeller rotatably provided on a downstream side of the first propeller in the flow path; and a motor including a rotor that is fixed to an outer circumferential portion of the second propeller and that is accommodated in the shroud, and a stator that surrounds the rotor via a clearance and that is fixed in the shroud. A portion of the flow path-forming surface on a downstream side of the second propeller decreases in diameter toward the downstream side, and the shroud includes an inlet flow path that is open at a portion between the first propeller and the second propeller of the flow path-forming surface.

An electric submersible pump (ESP) assembly comprises a centrifugal pump assembly, a seal section and an electric motor comprising a drive shaft having a bore concentric with a longitudinal axis of the drive shaft. A fluid mover disposed within and coupled to the bore of the drive shaft is configured for urging lubricating oil upward in the bore. The fluid mover includes at least one helical flighting open in the middle. The electric motor may also have a bearing coupled to the drive shaft and a bushing that is retained by a housing or by stator structure of the electric motor. The bushing defining at least one fluid flow channel extending from an upper edge of the bushing to a lower edge of the bushing and a middle portion of the fluid flow channel open to the inside surface of the bushing.

The chilldown method includes feeding cryogenic fluid via a feed circuit (102, 103) to at least one atomizing nozzle (110) connected to the feed circuit (102, 103), spraying the cryogenic fluid through the at least one atomizing nozzle (110) as a spray (200) of cryogenic fluid, and projecting the spray (200) of cryogenic fluid against at least one zone to be cooled in the cryogenic system (1).

A process fluid lubricated pump includes a pump having a pump shaft extending from a drive end to a non-drive end, first and last stage impellers, a drive unit exerting torque on the drive end to rotate the pump shaft, a balance drum connected to the pump shaft between the pump and the drive end, the balance drum defining a drum front side facing the pump and a drum back side, a relief passage between the balance drum and a first stationary part configured to be stationary with respect to a housing, the relief passage extending from the drum front side to the drum back side, the pump shaft radially supported in a non-contacting manner during operation of the pump, and a hydrodynamic radial pump bearing supporting the pump shaft, the radial pump bearing arranged at the non-drive end or at the drive end of the pump shaft.

The motor includes a hollow rotational shaft configured to rotate the impeller, and a casing defining a motor chamber that houses the rotational shaft therein. The rotational shaft forms a discharge passage therein and has a first end engaged with the impeller and a second end where a first end of the discharge passage opens. The first end of the discharge passage is in fluid communication with a low pressure area in the pump chamber via a second end of the discharge passage and is in fluid communication with a high pressure area in the pump chamber via an introduction passage formed in the casing.
