Devices and methods for guiding bleed air in a turbofan engine

Device and methods for guiding bleed air in a turbofan gas turbine engine are disclosed. The devices provided include louvers and baffles that guide bleed air toward a bypass duct of the turbofan engine. The louvers and baffles have a geometric configuration that promotes desirable flow conditions and reduced energy loss.

The apparatus includes a measurement device (100), a signal processing device (200) and a control and execution device (300), wherein the measurement device (100) is configured to measure the pressure or velocity fluctuations of air flows in different positions inside a compressor in real time, and to transmit real-time measurement signals obtained from different positions to the signal processing device (200); the signal processing device (200) is configured to determine, according to the real-time measurement signals, a type and spatial distribution of instability precursor in the compressor, and to output corresponding control strategy signals to the control and execution device (300); and the control and execution device (300) executes, according to the received control strategy signals, corresponding control actions to regulate the stability of the compressor (S3).

Ducted fan and aircraft

A ducted fan includes a fan and a cowl having a cylindrical shape and including an introduction port configured to introduce air from a first end portion side. The fan includes a compressor blade provided on an outer circumferential side and a thrust blade provided on an inner circumferential side of the compressor blade. The cowl includes a housing portion configured to accommodate the compressor blade in an interior thereof, an outlet configured to allow air flowing through the housing portion to be blown therethrough by the compressor blade, and an inlet configured to suck air blown out. The outlet is provided inwards in a radial direction of the cowl and near the introduction port of the cowl, and the inlet is provided inwards in the radial direction of the cowl and between the outlet and the compressor blade in an axial line direction.

CENTRIFUGAL COMPRESSOR

A centrifugal compressor includes: an impeller which is allowed to rotate around an axis; a casing which is provided with a return flow path allowing a fluid pressure-fed from the impeller to flow therein; and a return vane which is disposed inside the return flow path, wherein the return vane is provided with an injection port through which a liquid supplied from the outside is injected to the return flow path. Accordingly, power is further reduced while suppressing pressure loss.

A ceiling fan may include a shaft coupled to a ceiling, a cover to surround the shaft, a main blade having a blade hole which is a space open inward, and a sub-blade positioned in the blade hole. The sub-blade is disposed to have an angle of attack different from an angle of attack of the main blade. The turbofan engine includes a fan comprising a plurality of fan blades; a turbomachine operably coupled to the fan for driving the fan, the turbomachine comprising a compressor section, a combustion section, and a turbine section in serial flow order and together defining a core air flowpath; a nacelle surrounding and at least partially enclosing the fan; an inlet pre-swirl feature located upstream of the plurality of fan blades, the inlet pre-swirl feature attached to or integrated into the nacelle; and a means for reducing ice buildup or ice formation on the inlet pre-swirl feature, the means in communication with the inlet pre-swirl feature.

Methods and systems for catalytically treating exhaust gases from an internal combustion engine using secondary air injection, and secondary air pump for use therein

In a turbocharged internal combustion engine (ICE) system, a catalytic treatment device receives exhaust gases from the ICE after they have passed through the turbocharger turbine. The system includes a secondary air pump (SAP) for injecting pressurized air into the exhaust gases ahead of the catalytic treatment device. The SAP is a single-stage centrifugal compressor that includes an air recirculation passage for causing a first portion of the air pressurized by the SAP to be continuously recirculated back to the inlet of the SAP, which is effective for heating the air in the volute of the SAP. A second portion of the pressurized air, having thereby been heated, is injected into the exhaust gases proceeding toward the catalytic treatment device.

Fan assembly having flow recirculation circuit with rotating airfoils

There is disclosed a fan assembly including a fan rotor including a hub and fan blades. The fan blades have a leading edge and a trailing edge. A fan stator downstream of the fan rotor relative to a direction of an airflow through the fan assembly. The fan stator includes vanes extending between radially inner ends and radially outer ends. A flow recirculation circuit has an inlet downstream of the vanes of the fan stator and an outlet upstream of the vanes. A recirculation rotor has a plurality of airfoils circumferentially distributed around the axis and located in the flow recirculation circuit. The recirculation rotor is rotatable about the axis within the recirculation circuit. A method of operating the fan assembly is also disclosed.
