In accordance with at least one aspect of this disclosure, a pump includes a housing having one or more fluid inlets and one or more fluid outlets. The housing is configured to act as a pump housing for passing a fluid from the one or more fluid inlets to the one or more fluid outlets and configured to act as a stator for a motor. The pump also includes a cylinder encased within the housing and mounted on a shaft for rotation within the housing. The cylinder is configured to act as an impeller to drive fluid from the one or more fluid inlets through the housing to the one or more fluid outlets and configured to act as a rotor for the motor.

Reducing bearing load in a regenerative turbine pump

A regenerative turbine impeller includes a first side and a second side. An impeller housing surrounds the regenerative turbine impeller. The impeller housing includes a seal separating the first side and the second side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A first fluid inlet is fluidically coupled to the first side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A first fluid outlet is fluidically coupled to the first side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A second fluid inlet is fluidically coupled to the second side of the regenerative turbine impeller. A second fluid outlet is fluidically coupled to the second side of the regenerative turbine impeller.

SINGLE WHEEL MULTI-STAGE RADIALLY-LAYERED REGENERATIVE PUMP

A multi-stage regenerative rotary pump assembly includes a housing, and an elongated shaft received in the housing for rotation about a rotational axis. The shaft has a longitudinal axis aligned with the rotational axis. A rotary member is operatively connected to the shaft and dimensioned for receipt in the housing. The rotary member has opposite, first and second faces axially spaced from one another in a direction of the longitudinal axis. At least the first face of the rotary member includes a first pump stage having a first stage inlet and a first stage outlet in fluid communication therewith. At least the first face includes a second pump stage having a second stage inlet and a second stage outlet in fluid communication therewith, and the second stage inlet is configured to be in fluid communication with the first stage outlet.

Side-channel pump

A side-channel pump having a pump housing in which an operating chamber which is provided with a side channel and a motor are arranged, and having an impeller in the operating chamber which rotates with a shaft which is driven by the motor. A cooling circuit extends from the operating chamber to the motor and from the motor to a suction portion of the pump, wherein the cooling circuit is supplied from an operating chamber whose outlet side is connected to an outlet opening of the side-channel pump. Using the pump, gas can be drawn in without the pump becoming overheated.

Each rotor comprises at least one through hole along the axial direction, the through hole being positioned between the central bore and the rotor rim. Advantageously, the presence of a through hole on the rotor enables, under operating conditions, fluid exchange from the posterior fluid film to the anterior fluid film, thus promoting a pressure balance between the posterior and anterior fluid films, therefore enabling the rotor to work evenly, preventing rubbing on adjacent diffusers.

The invention relates to a side-channel pump and to a method for operating a side-channel pump in which an impeller rotates in a working chamber provided with a side channel. According to the invention, the pump is operated at an overspeed with a gas-filled working chamber in a first step. The speed is then reduced to an operating speed in order to pump a liquid. The pump according to the invention has a high suction power as a result of the overspeed, but only gas is drawn initially.
