LIGHTNING PROTECTION COVERING
A protective covering can protect a surface of a composite article from lightning strikes, wherein the surface includes at least one grounding connection. The covering includes a conductive sheet formed from electrically conductive material configured to be affixed to the composite article over a portion of the surface adjacent the grounding connection; and a perforated overlaminate sheet comprising a dielectric material configured to be affixed to the composite article over the conductive sheet. The perforated overlaminate sheet distributes electrical current of the lighting strikes over an area of the protective covering.
Wind turbine blade with flatback segment and related method
An optical analysis device for determining particulate matter includes three light sources having different wavelengths, an apparatus for combining the three transmitted light beams on a common optical path, a measurement volume, an optical axis in the forward scattering direction that defines the scattering angle 0°, a light absorption apparatus at 0° that absorbs unscattered light, and six detectors arranged at different specified angles which are as close as possible to 0° directly next to the light absorption apparatus, at a second scattering angle between 7° and 40°, at a third scattering angle between 41° and 70°, at a fourth scattering angle between 71° and 115°, at a fifth scattering angle between 116° and 145°, at a sixth scattering angle between 146° and 180°. A control and evaluation unit controls the light sources such that the scattered light is detected in a wavelength selective manner by the detectors.
Wind turbine blade with multiple spar caps
The present invention relates to wind turbine blade and a method of manufacturing the wind turbine blade. An aerodynamic shell is provided with a recess (70) at its inner surface, the recess (70) extending with-in the shell along a spanwise direction of the blade. A first region of the recess (70) has a first width and a second region of the recess (70) has a second width exceeding the first width. A transition region is provided between the first region and the second region of the re-cess. A first and a second spar cap (80, 82) are arranged within the shell.
METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A STRUCTURAL ELEMENT OF A WIND TURBINE BLADE, METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING A WIND TURBINE BLADE, STRUCTURAL ELEMENT OF A WIND TURBINE BLADE AND WIND TURBINE BLADE
A method for manufacturing a structural element of a wind turbine blade including forming of at least one injection hole in at least one laminate provided on a top side of a core material of a first portion and a second portion of the structural element and a bottom side of a core material of the first portion and the second portion, so that the at least one injection hole is fluidically connected to the cavity. Further, injecting adhesive through the injection hole into the cavity, curing the adhesive injected into the cavity and thereby forming a joint between an end of the core material of the first portion and an end of the core material of the second portion. Further, a method for manufacturing a wind turbine blade and the structural element, the wind turbine blade is also provided.
WIND TURBINE BLADE AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURING A WIND TURBINE BLADE
A wind turbine blade includes a profiled contour with a leading edge and a trailing edge, and a chord extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge, along with a blade shell with a pressure side and a suction side, a first main spar cap integrated in the pressure side of the blade shell, a second main spar cap integrated in the suction side of the blade shell, and one or more shear webs connected between the first main spar cap and the second main spar cap. The blade shell includes at least a first load carrying structure arranged at the leading edge or the trailing edge and having a first extension, including a first primary extension on a first side of the chord, where the first primary extension is at least 60% of the first extension.
Positioning profiles for pultrusions in wind blade spar caps
Provided herein is a spar cap having a profile for guiding and receiving a shear web for wind turbine blade. Particularly, the present disclosure provides a pultruded spar cap having a bond gap feature to maintain a uniform space for distribution of bonding paste between the spar cap and shear web. Also, the spar cap is formed with locating features which guide and receive placement of the shear web.
Polyurethane material, process for preparing such material and protective cover for wind turbine blade
The polyurethane material is prepared from a polyol, butanediol, and an isocyanate. The protective cover is adapted to be attached along at least a part of a longitudinal edge of the wind turbine blade by adhesion of an inside of the protective cover to a surface of the longitudinal edge of the wind turbine blade. The protective cover is elongated in a longitudinal direction and has an at least substantially U-formed cross-section. The protective cover includes a central cover section extending in the longitudinal direction and two peripheral cover sections extending in the longitudinal direction at either side of the central cover section, respectively. The central cover section has a minimum thickness of at least 1 millimetre, and each peripheral cover section has a thickness decreasing from a maximum thickness of at least 1 millimetre to a minimum thickness of less than ½ millimetre.
Distance member for connecting wind turbine blade shear webs
The present invention relates to a wind turbine blade and a method for its manufacture. A lower shell part and an upper shell part are provided, each shell part having a leading edge and a trailing edge. A first shear web and a second shear web for connecting an inner surface of the lower shell part with an inner surface of the upper shell part are provided. The first shear web and the second shear web are connected by a first distance member in a chordwise direction. The first distance member is arranged for accommodating a variable chordwise distance between said first shear web and said second shear web. The first shear web and the second shear web are placed in the lower shell part and the upper shell part is mounted.
