Hydrokinetic Telescopic Turbine Device
20220403815 · 2022-12-22 ·

The telescopic hydrokinetic turbine system is a device meant for lifting the burden of manufacturing, installing, and maintaining hydrokinetic systems in the water. The device attempts to overcome the issues faced by present day hydrokinetic systems. To accomplish this, the device includes a light weight and easy to carry and install design, a telescopic pillar to align itself with the tide direction or even to leave the body of water for maintenance. Electrical parts are not submerged but instead remain onshore in a small cabin or housing. Further, by adding the use of multiple diffusers, the water flowing into the turbine is made smoother and the overload of water is able to be evacuated and swiped by the fins. The diffusers increase the blades working capacity while homogenizing the water flow and avoiding the phenomena of vibrations and cavitation, thereby increasing efficiency.

An example wind turbine is provided that includes a shaft assembly, strut mounts coupled to the shaft assembly, airfoils directly or indirectly coupled to the strut mounts, and a generator assembly connected to the shaft assembly. The shaft assembly defines a central longitudinal axis of the wind turbine. The airfoils are capable of being positioned in a fully extended orientation and a fully retracted orientation. Rotation of the airfoils results in rotation of at least a portion of the shaft assembly to generate electrical current with the generator assembly.

TURBINE ENGINE COOLER ASSEMBLY

A fan casing assembly for a turbine engine including a casing having an annular fan cooler. The annular fan cooler includes first and second connection assemblies to fix movement of the fan cooler during engine operation, while permitting circumferential thermal growth of the fan cooler without suffering from high cycle fatigue.

SYSTEM FOR COLLECTING ENERGY FROM A MOVING MASS

A system is provided comprising a tunnel for immersion in a moving mass. Energy from the mass passing through said tunnel converts to rotational force. An energy collector is provided having open and collapsed states, the open state resisting the mass. Bidirectional converter systems convert said rotational force to constant singular direction. A mechanical converter comprises an input shaft turned bidirectionally by said rotational force and two gears driven by the input shaft in opposite rotational directions, the gears separately attached to idler gears causing output gears attached to the idler gears to engage an output shaft in a same rotational direction. A hydraulic converter comprises a hydraulic pump turned bidirectionally by said rotational force. Check valves positioned between the pump and a hydraulic motor enable control of pressure and volume in one direction at the pump.

Energy storage system using earth materials
11658512 · 2023-05-23 ·

An energy storage system stores power received from a power grid as potential energy in compressed earth materials. The energy storage system includes a motor-generator coupled to an anchor via a tensile member. The motor-generator is configured to apply a tensile force to the tensile member. The tensile force causes the motor-generator and the anchor to apply a compression force to the earth materials in the ground, and causes the anchor to displace, thereby storing the received power as potential energy. The energy storage system provides power to the power grid by relieving some of the tensile force on the tensile member and thereby relieving some of the compression force on the earth materials. The anchor displaces towards its original position, and thereby causes the motor-generator to generate electrical power from the stored potential energy.
