Wave-powered generator
11566610 · 2023-01-31 · ·

A machine and process to compress ambient air using natural swell of ocean waves to store energy. The devise is a bi-directional air pump operated by ocean wave power of water buoyancy as well as earth gravity in a pressure vessel using a piston. The machine uses a large surface area as float connected by a rod to a small area as piston, housed in a pressure vessel to multiply compression of air. The compression of air is directly proportional to the respective surface areas of float to the piston attached with a rod inside the pressure vessel. An array of similar machines can be employed to multiply potential energy output.

An aeration apparatus for aerating water discharged from a hydraulic turbine includes: a manifold disposed within a crown of a runner of the hydraulic turbine; a plurality of radial pipes extending radially from an outer perimeter of the manifold and in fluid communication with the manifold; and one or more air injectors having a first end disposed within an aeration pipe, each of the one or more air injectors having a second end extending into a nozzle at a first end of one of the radial pipes. Rotation of the aeration apparatus resulting from rotation of the runner causes pumping of water from the manifold through the radial pipes past the one or more air injectors, and water flowing past the one or more air injectors causes air to become entrained in the water. The radial pipes discharge the water and entrained air from the aeration apparatus.

Method and system for cooling a wind turbine gearbox oil heat-exchanger

A method and system are provided for cooling a heat-exchanger in a wind turbine that has an electric generator with a cooling air flow directed therethrough. Effluent cooling air flow from the electric generator is directed into an air ejector pump and acts as motive air through the air ejector pump. Cold air is drawn into the air ejector pump by the vacuum generated by the motive air moving through the air ejector pump. The heat exchanger is disposed in-line with the cold air flow so that the cold air is drawn through the heat-exchanger, removes heat from the fluid circulated through the heat-exchanger, and becomes heated air that is combined with the motive air and discharged from the nacelle.

The nacelle housing includes a ventilation opening of a cooling system of the wind turbine, a cover closing the ventilation opening, the cover being configured to allow an airflow through the cover and the ventilation opening, and a service hatch for hoisting a load into or out of the nacelle housing. The service hatch is provided by the ventilation opening and the cover, wherein the cover is configured as a service door of the service hatch that is opened to allow the hoisting of a load through the ventilation opening into or out of the nacelle housing. Furthermore, a method of hoisting a load into or out of a nacelle housing of a wind turbine is provided.

DEVICE FOR CONVERSION OF WAVE ENERGY INTO ELECTRICAL ENERGY
20230089008 · 2023-03-23 ·

The device for conversion of wave energy into electrical energy consists of a supporting structure, the first working body, an anchor and anchor cables. The supporting structure is connected to the anchors by anchor cables, while the first working body is slidably connected to the supporting structure. The motion transformation system is firmly connected to the supporting structure and comprises rigid gears toothed with gears with rolls on one side while on the other side they are hinged to the first working body, on the other side of the gears with the rolls, rigid gears are connected at one end, while their other end is hinged to other working body. The gears with rolls are connected by shafts with a multiplier that drives the generator that further produces electricity. The device constructed in this way has the possibility of transport to the place of exploitation, because it floats stably on its own. The anchor system is transported to the place of exploitation using a transport body that also has the ability to float on its own and to submerge.
