A method for constrained control of a wind turbine includes receiving a plurality of operating parameters corresponding to the wind turbine. The plurality of operating parameters includes a wind preview parameter and a plurality of constraint parameters. The method further includes generating a constraint parameter estimate corresponding to a future time instant for at least one constraint parameter of the plurality of constraint parameters based on the plurality of operating parameters and a wind preview model. The method also includes predicting an extreme event corresponding to the at least one constraint parameter based on the constraint parameter estimate. The method includes determining a control parameter value corresponding to a wind turbine control parameter among a plurality of wind turbine control parameters. The method also includes operating the wind turbine using a feedforward control technique based on the control parameter value to circumvent the extreme event.
DEVICE AND METHOD OF CONTROLLING BLADE INSTABILITIES OF A WIND TURBINE TO AVOID BLADE FLUTTERING
A device and a method of controlling blade instabilities of a wind turbine is provided. The method including the following steps: defining at least one preliminary overspeed threshold value; defining a fluttering rotor speed at and above which a predetermined fluttering of at least one of the blades occurs, the fluttering rotor speed is defined as a function of the pitch angle and/or as a function of the wind speed; setting a final overspeed threshold value to be equal to or smaller than a minimum rotor speed of the at least one preliminary overspeed threshold value and the fluttering rotor speed at the actual pitch angle and/or at the actual wind speed; and controlling the rotor speed to not exceed the final overspeed threshold value.
Power generation device
The present application discloses a power generation device so as to solve the generator set overspeed problem. The power generation device comprises: a stand column; and at least one generator set located on the stand column. The generator set comprises a support, blades connected to the support, and a power generator generating power by means of rotation of the blades, and an adjustment device located on the support and used for adjusting a windage area of the blades by moving or rotating the blade according to a wind speed. The wind power generation device may reduce an effective windage area to zero when the wind force is too high, thereby improving stability and applicability in a changeable environment and prolonging the service life of the apparatus.

Provided is a method of controlling at least one wind turbine in case of a rotational overspeed situation, the method including: determining a current state related to the wind turbine; providing data related to the current state as input to a turbine model; predicting a load of at least one wind turbine component and power output of the wind turbine using the turbine model provided with the input for plural control strategies; comparing the predicted load and power output for the plural control strategies; and selecting that control strategy among the plural control strategies that satisfies a target criterion including the load and the power output.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING THE OPERATION OF A WIND TURBINE
A method for controlling the operation of a wind turbine may generally include monitoring a current yaw position of a nacelle of the wind turbine, wherein the current yaw position is located within one of a plurality of yaw sectors defined for the nacelle. In addition, the method may include monitoring a wind-dependent parameter of the wind turbine and determining a variance of the wind-dependent parameter over time, wherein the variance is indicative of variations in a wind parameter associated with the wind turbine. Moreover, the method may include determining at least one curtailed operating setpoint for the wind turbine when the variance exceeds a predetermined variance threshold, wherein the curtailed operating setpoint(s) is determined based at least in part on historical wind data for the yaw sector associated with the current yaw position.
Flow rate responsive turbine blades and related methods
An apparatus energized by a flowing fluid includes at least one turbine blade having a trailing edge angle and an elastic deformation member connected to the at least one turbine blade. The deformation of the elastic deformation member changes an orientation of a trailing edge angle of the at least one turbine blade.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING A WIND POWER INSTALLATION
Provided is a method for controlling a wind power installation having a rotor operated with variable speed and having rotor blades that are adjustable in their blade angle. The installation is controlled in a partial-load range by an open-loop operating-characteristic control, which uses an operating characteristic. The operating characteristic presets a relationship between the rotational speed and a generator state variable to be set that is a generator power or torque. A value of the generator state variable preset by the operating characteristic is set in dependence on a detected speed. The installation is controlled in a full-load range by a closed-loop pitch control, in which the rotational speed is controlled to a speed setpoint value by adjusting the blade angles. In a presettable range of the partial-load range and/or in a transitional range from the partial-load range to the full-load range, the installation is controlled by a speed-power control.

Provided is a protection method for use in fan malfunctions, applicable to an electronic device, and effective in preventing the electronic device from being overheated. The electronic device includes a fan, temperature sensor, and processor. The method includes steps of: limiting the processor's performance, upon determination that not only is the fan's rotation speed greater than or equal to a predetermined upper rotation speed limit, but the electronic device's temperature sensed by the temperature sensor is also greater than or equal to a predetermined upper temperature limit; determining whether the fan's rotation speed is less than or equal to a first restored rotation speed when the fan's rotation speed is determined to be less than the predetermined upper rotation speed limit; and stopping the limiting of the processor's performance when the fan's rotation speed is determined to be less than or equal to the first restored rotation speed.
