BOSS THERMAL WASHER
Systems and methods for thermal washers are described herein. A thermal washer may comprise a first metallic plate having a first inner surface and a first outer surface, a second metallic plate having a second inner surface and a second outer surface, the second metallic plate being oriented substantially parallel to the first metallic plate such that the first inner surface and the second inner surface are separated by a gap, and a thermal wool in contact with the first inner surface and the second inner surface, the thermal wool filling a void between the first inner surface and the second inner surface. A width of the thermal wool may be substantially equal to a width of the first metallic plate and a length of the thermal wool may be substantially equal to a length of the first metallic plate.
Energy storage system
The present invention is an energy storage system comprising a mechanical bellows having an outer flexible material casing with one or more functional elements that operate as actuators for expanding and contracting the outer flexible material casing to store or deliver energy.
Methods for manufacturing porous barrier coatings using air plasma spray techniques
A method for forming a porous barrier coating on a substrate without substantial chemical segregation includes the steps of providing or obtaining a barrier coating material in powdered form and spraying the barrier coating material onto the substrate using air plasma spraying. The air plasma spraying is performed using an average homologous surface temperature of the depositing particles in a range of about 1.25 to about 1.5 and a particle velocity in a range of about 300 m/s to about 500 m/s. The depositing particles are fully molten.
WIND TURBINE ROTOR BLADE JOINT CONSTRUCTED OF DISSIMILAR MATERIALS
A rotor blade for a wind turbine includes a first blade segment and a second blade segment extending in opposite directions from a chord-wise joint. Each of the first and second blade segments includes at least one shell member defining an airfoil surface. The rotor blade also includes one or more pin joints for connecting the first and second blade segments at the chord-wise joint. The pin joint(s) includes one or more pin joint tubes received within the pin joint slot(s). The pin joint slot(s) are secured within a load bearing block. Further, a gap is defined between the pin joint slot(s) and the load bearing block. Moreover, the rotor blade includes a shim within the gap between the pin joint slot(s) and the load bearing block so as to retain the pin joint slot(s) within the load bearing block. In addition, the shim is constructed of a liquid material that hardens after being poured into the gap.

Wind turbine blade including protective cover
A wind turbine blade includes a protective cover attached along the blade by a layer of adhesive. The adhesive is a general purpose adhesive, and the adhesive forms a joint or sealing between an outer edge of the cover section of the blade and the surface of the blade so that the outer edge is covered by the adhesive and so that the joint forms an oblique surface from the outer edge to the surface of the blade. The joint has a first height at the outer edge and a second height at the position where it ends at the surface of the blade. The second height is smaller than the first height and smaller than 0.2 millimetres, and the joint is integrally formed with the layer of adhesive.
Wind turbine blade having a cover plate masking hot-air exhaust for de-icing and/or anti-icing
A rotor blade uses hot-air, for example exhaust from a generator positioned inside a nacelle of a wind turbine, for de-icing and/or anti-icing. The rotor blade has an airfoil section and a cavity enclosed therein. A flow path inside the cavity, for flow of the hot-air, extends from a root section towards a tip section. Exhaust holes, fluidly connected with the flow path, at an outer surface of the airfoil section emit the hot-air from the airfoil section. The rotor blade includes a cover plate positioned at the outer surface of the airfoil section and masking the exhaust holes, thereby creating an external flow space between the exhaust holes and the cover plate's inner surface. The cover plate guides the hot-air over the outer surface of the airfoil section after the hot-air exits, via the exhaust holes, the airfoil section and before the hot-air escapes the rotor blade.
Blower comprising impeller and motor
The blowing device includes an impeller that is rotatable about a center axis and a motor that drives the impeller. The impeller includes a plurality of vanes arranged in a circumferential direction, a flange in which the plurality of vanes are provided at the outer circumferential edge in a radial-direction outside, and a plate-shaped first shielding unit located between the vanes adjacent to each other in the circumferential direction. The first shielding unit is connected to a rear edge surface on an opposite side to the rotation direction of the vane and an outside surface located on the radial-direction outside of the flange.
System for wind turbine blade actuation
A wind turbine blade includes a first blade segment and a second blade segment extending in opposite directions from a chord-wise joint. Each of the blade segments having a pressure side shell member, a suction side shell member. The blade further including a coupling component extending spanwise and structurally connecting the first blade segment and the second blade segment. A thermal actuation component is coupled to the coupling component and passively actuated in response to a change in thermal conditions so as to provide for aeroelastic tailoring and pitch control to the wind turbine blade.
ICE MELTING DEVICE FOR BLADE, BLADE AND WIND TURBINE
An ice melting device for a blade, a blade and a wind turbine are provided. The ice melting device for the blade includes: a first heating portion; a first electrode and a second electrode, wherein the first electrode and the second electrode are arranged at two ends of the first heating portion in a length direction, respectively; and a connecting conductor, wherein the connecting conductor extends in a length direction, a first end of the connecting conductor is connected to the second electrode, and a second end of the connecting conductor and the first electrode are located at a same side. With the connecting conductor, power leads connecting to the first electrode and the second electrode are allowed be located at a same side, thereby, in a case that an old blade is modified, an increase of a layer thickness caused by the power leads may be greatly reduced.
