The first and second corrugated media sheets have flutes that extend at different angles relative to a reference line and at such relative angles and have flute pitches that inhibit nesting of the adjacent sheets.

A turbine hot gas path (HGP) component includes a body having an exterior surface exposed to a hot gas path, and a cooling circuit defined along an interior surface of the body and fluidly coupled to a coolant source. The cooling circuit includes a plurality of sections spaced from one another but fluidly connected. Each section includes a wall defining at least one cooling passage, and a connector wall coupling between the wall of a first section of the plurality of sections and the wall of an adjacent, second section of the plurality of sections. The wall of the first section and the wall of the adjacent, second section are spaced apart, segregating stress between the sections. The connector wall is more flexible than: the wall of the first section, the wall of the adjacent, second section, and the body, allowing stress relief between the sections.

Gas Turbine Vane and Assembly in Lattice-Structure Cooling Type

Provided is a gas turbine vane and blade assembly in which lattice structures are installed between an impingement plate and an effusion plate. The gas turbine vane and blade assembly is capable of enhancing cooling efficiency in an impingement/effusion cooling technique.

In addition, the gas turbine vane and blade assembly can be manufactured using an additive manufacturing technique, and the lattice structures are capable of replacing supports that are used during an additive manufacturing process, and improving not only structural rigidity and stability but also cooling performance.

An airfoil assembly includes first and second fiber-reinforced composite airfoil rings that each have inner and outer platform sections, a suction side wall extending between the inner and outer platforms, a pressure side wall extending between the inner and outer platforms, and suction and pressure side mate faces along, respectively, edges of the suction and pressure side walls. The suction side mate face of the first fiber-reinforced composite airfoil ring and the pressure side mate face of the second fiber-reinforced composite airfoil ring mate at an interface to form an airfoil that circumscribes an internal cavity. A least one of the suction or pressure side mate faces includes protrusions along a trailing edge of the airfoil. The protrusions define a toothed exit slot for emitting cooling air from the internal cavity.

Turbofan engine with heat exchanger module having optimized fan to element area parameter

A turbofan gas turbine engine includes, in axial flow sequence, a heat exchanger module, a fan assembly, a compressor module, and a turbine module. The fan assembly includes fan blades defining a corresponding fan area (A.sub.FAN). The heat exchanger module is in fluid communication with the fan assembly by an inlet duct, and includes radially-extending vanes arranged in a circumferential array with at least one vane including a heat transfer element for heat transfer from a first fluid contained within each element to an airflow passing over a surface of each heat transfer element before entering the fan assembly inlet. Each heat transfer element extends axially along the corresponding vane, with a swept heat transfer element area (A.sub.HTE) being the wetted surface area of all heat transfer elements in contact with the airflow. A Fan to Element Area parameter F.sub.EA of A.sub.HTE/A.sub.FAN lies in the range of 47 to 132.

An air inflow lip of a nacelle for a turbojet of an aircraft, including a cavity defined by a leading edge of the nacelle and by an annular wall, includes an inner wall, an acoustic treatment device, and a pneumatic de-icing device including a de-icing fluid supply device. The inner wall of the air inflow lip includes acoustic boreholes and the pneumatic de-icing device includes a honeycombed de-icing plate mounted inside the cavity on the inner wall of the air inflow lip. Also included are conduits for the circulation of a de-icing fluid and acoustic wells communicating with the acoustic boreholes.

A turbine blade including an airfoil portion having a leading edge, a trailing edge, and a pressure surface and a suction surface extending between the leading edge and the trailing edge. The airfoil portion internally forming a cooling passage, which includes first and second cooling passages, and a plurality of outflow passages each having one end which opens to a merging portion formed by connecting an end portion of the first cooling passage on a side of the trailing edge and an end portion of the second cooling passage on the side of the trailing edge, and another end which opens to the trailing edge. The first cooling passage and the second cooling passage are divided by a partition member disposed in the airfoil portion. The cooling passage includes pressure side pin fins in the first cooling passage, and suction side pin fins in the second cooling passage.

The present invention provides a bladed rotor wheel for a gas turbine engine comprising at least a rotatable forged disc, the rotatable forged disc comprising a front surface and a back surface, at least one rim surface, and a plurality of projections located on at least a portion of at least one of the front or back surface and/or on the rim surface; wherein the projections are 3D printed features protruding outwards from the front, back and/or rim surface; the projections are arranged forming a pattern so that a heat transfer capability is created at the front, back and/or rim surface; and the ratio of the distance between projections to the forged disc external radius is lower than 0.15. Furthermore, the present invention also provides a method for manufacturing a rotatable forged disc for a bladed rotor wheel.
