SYSTEMS AND METHODS ASSOCIATED WITH A REMOVABLE INLET SHIELD
An inlet shield with a first portion that is configured to be secured to an inlet of a turbocharger, and a second portion that is configured to be removably coupled to the first portion via magnets, wherein different second portions may have different mesh layouts allowing a consumer to choose different levels of protection and air flow based on desired use.
Mounting arrangements for gas turbine engine accessories
A housing for a gas turbine engine accessory includes an enclosure having a drive end with an opening and a closure. The closure is seated in the opening, defines therethrough a shaft aperture and has a v-band flange extending about a periphery of the closure to limit load carried by the enclosure when the engine accessory is mounted to an accessory gearbox mount in a cantilevered arrangement. Engine accessories for gas turbine engines and mounting arrangements for gas turbine engine accessories are also described.
Ducted fan case attachment structure
A ducted fan engine module and method of assembling the same is disclosed. In various embodiments, the ducted fan engine module includes a ducted fan engine having a ducted fan case configured to house a fan; a lower V-blade fitting secured to a lower frame; and an upper V-blade fitting secured to an upper frame.
BEARING HOUSING AND METHOD OF MANUFACTURE
There is disclosed a bearing housing for a turbocharger. The bearing housing comprises a body and a mounting flange. The body is configured to receive one or more bearings. The one or more bearings are configured to support rotation of a shaft about an axis. The mounting flange extends around the body. The mounting flange comprises a plurality of bores, a first face and a plurality of cavities. The plurality of bores configured to receive a fastener therethrough. The first face is configured to engage a corresponding mounting flange of a turbine housing. The plurality of cavities are in communication with the plurality of bores. The plurality of cavities are axially recessed relative to the first face.
TURBINE CASING COMPRISING A LOW-STRESS CONNECTION FLANGE, AND EXHAUST-GAS TURBINE HAVING SUCH A TURBINE CASING
A turbine casing for an exhaust-gas turbine is provided herein. The turbine casing has a connection flange for bearing-casing-side attachment to a bearing casing in which casing-connection holes that are mutually spaced in the circumferential direction are provided, wherein, between adjacent casing-connection holes, material recesses that are open radially inwards towards a central longitudinal axis of the turbine casing are provided in the connection flange. Further provided herein is an exhaust-gas turbine that is equipped with the turbine casing.
AIR CYCLE MACHINE FAN AND COMPRESSOR HOUSING
A fan and compressor housing for an air cycle machine includes a fan inlet disposed around a center axis of the housing and having a fan inlet mounting flange, a compressor outlet having a compressor outlet mounting flange, and a compressor inlet having a compressor inlet mounting flange. The fan inlet mounting flange has a pinhole disposed thereon configured to receive a pin from a fan inlet diffuser housing and a fan inlet counterbore configured to receive a mating component from the fan inlet diffuser housing. The compressor outlet mounting flange has a compressor outlet counterbore configured to receive a first mating component from a condenser/reheater. The compressor inlet mounting flange has a compressor inlet counterbore configured to receive a second mating component from the condenser/reheater.
Turbocharger
A turbocharger (10A) has a back plate (41). The back plate (41) is provided with a plate section (41a) and a flange section (41c) which is formed radially outside the plate section (41a) and which is supported so as to be sandwiched between a bearing housing (16) and a turbine housing (31). The turbocharger (10A) is further provided with a flange heat shielding section (53) provided between the flange section (41c) and the bearing housing (16) and consisting of a material having lower heat conductivity than the turbine housing (31) and the back plate (41).
Turbocharger
A turbocharger includes a turbine housing that is a cast component, a turbine scroll passage, a discharge port, and a discharge port defining member. The turbine scroll passage surrounds the circumference of a turbine chamber defined in the turbine housing and the circumference of the turbine chamber. Exhaust gas that has passed through the turbine chamber is conducted to the discharge port. The discharge port defining member constitutes a wall surface of the discharge port. The discharge port defining member includes a tubular main body wall and an outer circumferential edge. The main body wall constitutes a wall surface of the discharge port. The outer circumferential edge extends from the distal end of the main body wall and outward in the radial direction of the impeller shaft. The outer circumferential edge is fixed between the turbine housing and a downstream exhaust pipe, which is connected to the discharge port.
