Structure and method to mitigate rotor bow in turbine engine
A gas turbine engine including a first rotor assembly comprising a first drive shaft extended along a longitudinal direction; a housing coupled to the first rotor assembly to provide rotation of the first rotor assembly around an axial centerline; a first accessory assembly, wherein the first accessory assembly sends and/or extracts energy to and from the first rotor assembly; and a first clutch assembly disposed between the first rotor assembly and the first accessory assembly. The first clutch assembly engages and disengages the first rotor assembly to and from the first accessory assembly.
AIRCRAFT TURBOMACHINE ARRANGEMENT COMPRISING A LUBRICATION PUMP DRIVEN BY TWO OBLIQUE GEARS
A pump that can be a gear pump that drives a rotating body of an aircraft turbine engine such as a fan shaft, is set in rotation always in the same direction, by virtue of a transmission including an oblique double gear formed by a toothed wheel on the same side as the rotating body and meshing with two pinions connected to a shaft driving the pump through free-wheels with identical driving directions, whereas the pinions have opposite directions of rotation.
Accessory gearbox for gas turbine engine with compressor drive
A gas turbine engine has a low speed input shaft drives a first plurality of accessories. A high speed input shaft drives a second plurality of accessories. The first plurality of accessories rotating about a first set of rotational axes perpendicular to a first plane. The second plurality of accessories rotating about a second set rotational axes perpendicular to a second plane. The first and second planes extending in opposed directions away from a drive input axis. Compressed air is tapped and passes through a heat exchanger, then to a boost compressor, and then to at least one rotatable components in a main compressor section and a main turbine section. The boost compressor driven on a boost axis, which is non-parallel to the first set of rotational axes and the second set of rotational axes.
Gas turbine
A gas turbine includes a rotational body including a tie rod, a plurality of rotor disks arranged in an axial direction of the tie rod, and a plurality of blades radially arranged on an outer periphery of each rotor disk; a stationary body surrounding the rotational body and defining a working fluid flow space between opposing surfaces of the rotational and stationary bodies, the stationary body including a casing accommodating the rotational body and a plurality of vanes and diaphragms arranged on an inner surface of the casing, the vanes arranged alternately with the blades; and a compressor cleaner disposed at a plurality of compressor positions in the stationary body to spray a cleaning fluid into the working fluid flow space. The compressor positions are separated from each other in the axial direction, and the cleaning fluid is spayed at low pressure to enhance cleaning efficiency while protecting compressor components.
System and apparatus for diversified gearbox
A gas turbine engine assembly comprising, a gearbox including a first housing that includes a first auxiliary gear drive on a first portion thereof, a second housing that includes a second auxiliary gear drive on a second portion thereof, and a third housing that includes a third auxiliary gear drive on a third portion thereof, the housings being interconnected so that the first portion of the first housing, the second portion of the second housing and the third portion of the third housing form a substantially triangular polyhedron shape, with the second portion of the second housing disposed between the first portion of the first housing and the third portion of the third housing. The first auxiliary gear drive, the second auxiliary gear drive and the third auxiliary gear drive project outwardly in mutually divergent directions.
Thrust reverser with hidden linkage blocker doors
Aspects are directed to a system that includes an outer structure of a thrust reverser, a blocker door, and a plurality of four-bar mechanisms arranged in series with one another that couple the outer structure and the blocker door. Aspects are directed to a system for a thrust reverser of an aircraft that includes a blocker door, a kinematic mechanism configured to actuate the blocker door, and a pressure shelf, where the blocker door is configured to reside below the pressure shelf in proximity to a duct of the thrust reverser, and where at least a portion of the kinematic mechanism is configured to reside above the pressure shelf.
IDLER GEAR CONNECTION FOR MULTI-STAGE VARIABLE VANE ACTUATION
An actuator system including a harmonic drive operable to drive a variable vane system of a gas turbine engine.
Sealing arrangement of accessory to aircraft engine
To provide an aircraft engine in which an accessory can be directly supported with no accessory gearbox intervening to thereby suppress an increase in size thereof, the aircraft engine (E) includes a take-out shaft (11) having a first end portion, connected with an engine rotary shaft (9) and extending in a radially outward direction, and also having a second end portion connected with an accessory (1), and a mounting pad (12) provided in an engine main body (EB) and to which the accessory (1) is fitted. The mounting pad (12) forms an outer perimeter of an opening (48) through which the take-out shaft (11) extends. The opening (48) is sealed by a covering (47), through which the take-out shaft (1) extends, and a sealing member (49) to seal between the covering (47) and the take-out shaft (11).
Accessory gearbox for gas turbine engine with variable transmission
An auxiliary gearbox has a low speed input shaft driving a first plurality of accessories. A high speed input shaft drives a second plurality of accessories. The first plurality of accessories rotating about a first set of rotational axes, which are parallel to each other and perpendicular to a first plane. The second plurality of accessories rotating about a second set of rotational axes, which are parallel to each other and perpendicular to a second plane. The first and second planes extending in opposed directions away from a drive input axis of the high speed input shaft and the low speed input shaft. The low speed input shaft drives a variable speed transmission. A gas turbine engine is also disclosed.
