Rotor for turbine engine and turbine engine comprising this rotor

A rotor for a turbomachine includes a disc and a plurality of blades fixed to the disc. Each blade of the plurality of blades is fixed to the disc via a lattice structure configured so that a tensile force applied to the lattice structure induces a change in the angle of incidence of the blade. The blades and the lattice structures are configured so that: (i) when the rotor is stationary, the distribution of the angles of incidence of the blades around the disc is aperiodic, and (ii) when the rotor is rotating at a predetermined rotational speed, the angles of incidence of the blades are identical.

Methods and systems for validating a propeller control unit associated with a propeller having blades are provided. Actuation of a control valve of the propeller control unit is commanded to alter a pitch angle of the blades. One of an actual pitch angle of the blades and an actual rotational speed of the propeller is determined after a predetermined time delay has elapsed. The one of the actual pitch angle of the blades and the actual rotational speed of the propeller is compared to a corresponding one of a pitch angle threshold and a rotational speed threshold, the pitch angle threshold and the rotational speed threshold based on a commanded pitch angle. A warning signal is issued in response to determining one of the actual pitch angle failing to meet the pitch angle threshold and the actual rotational speed failing to meet the rotational speed threshold.

A method for controlling noise emitted by a hybrid-electric gas turbine engine for an aircraft during a takeoff flight condition includes applying a first total rotational force to a shaft with a turbine and an electric motor. The first total rotational force includes a first electric rotational force applied by the electric motor and a first thermal rotational force applied by the turbine. The first total rotational force has a first rotational force ratio of the first electric rotational force to the first thermal rotational force. The method further includes controlling the noise emitted by the gas turbine engine by reducing the first rotational force ratio from an initial rotational force ratio of the rotational force ratio as an altitude of the aircraft increases and maintaining the first total rotational force substantially constant while reducing the rotational force ratio.

The present invention relates to control of a wind turbine in a stop process where a stop controller is used to pitch the blades at a number of pre-set pitch rates including a first pitch rate and a second pitch rate. The stop controller is arranged to access desired pitch angles of the stopping process and add an envelope band to the desired pitch angles. In the stop process, pitching at a selected pitch rate among the number of pre-set pitch rates is performed, and the pitch rate is changed according to criteria to keep the pitch value within the envelope band.
