System and method for controlling rotorcraft
In an embodiment, a rotorcraft includes: a plurality of engines; a flight control computer connected to the plurality of engines, the flight control computer being configured to: receive an operating parameter of a first engine of the plurality of engines; determine an engine output ramping rate for the first engine according to a difference between the operating parameter of the first engine and a nominal limit of the first engine; and increase the output of the first engine in response to detecting an outage of another engine of the plurality of engines, the output of the first engine being increased according to the engine output ramping rate.
AIRCRAFT PROPULSION SYSTEM
Technology for operating an engine smoothly is provided. In an aircraft propulsion system, a controller causes at least a first engine among the plurality of engines to be stopped and causes a second engine, which has not been stopped, to be operated when an aircraft is flying in a prescribed flight mode and causes the first engine to be operated and causes the second engine to be stopped when a detector detects that the temperature related to the first engine is less than or equal to a first prescribed temperature.
Air system switching system to allow aero-engines to operate in standby mode
A multi-engine aircraft includes a first engine drivingly engaged to a common rotatable load and a second engine drivingly engaged to the common rotatable load, the second engine having a bleed air system and a control system in communication with a compressed air switching system. The control system controls operation of the second engine and/or the compressed air switching system. The compressed air switching system includes a switching valve that is displaceable between at least a first position and a second position, the first position interconnecting a lower pressure inlet and a switch outlet, and the second position interconnecting a high pressure inlet and the switch outlet. The switch outlet is in communication with the bleed air system of the second engine. The control system actuates the switching valve to switch between the first and second positions.
AIRCRAFT AND METHOD OF OPERATING SAME
The aircraft can have a first engine secured to a first wing on a first side of a fuselage, and a second engine secured to a second wing on a second side of the fuselage, the second wing having a proximal end secured to the fuselage, and a distal end extending away from the fuselage. While operating the first engine, compressed gas can be conveyed from the first engine to a thrust generating device located at the distal end of the second wing.
VERTICAL TAKEOFF AND LANDING AIRCRAFT
An aircraft defines a vertical direction and includes a fuselage and a propulsion system comprising a power source and a plurality of vertical thrust electric fans driven by the power source. A wing extends from the fuselage. The plurality of vertical thrust electric fans are arranged along a length of the wing along a lengthwise direction of the wing. The wing comprises a diffusion assembly along the lengthwise direction of the wing and includes a first diffusion member positioned downstream of at least one of the plurality of vertical thrust electric fans. The first diffusion member defines a curved shape relative to a longitudinal direction of the aircraft. The longitudinal direction is generally perpendicular to the lengthwise direction of the wing.
METHOD FOR CONTROLLING AN AIRCRAFT CAPABLE OF HOVERING AND RELATIVE AIRCRAFT
A method for controlling an aircraft capable of hovering is described, comprising a first engine; a second engine; at least one rotor; and a transmission interposed between the first and second engine and the rotor; the transmission comprises a first and a second inlet connected respectively to a first outlet member of the first engine and to a second outlet member of the second engine; the method comprises step i) of placing the in a first configuration, in which the first and second engine make available a first and a second power value; or in a second configuration, in which the first engine (makes available a third power value greater than the first power value to the first inlet, and the second engine delivers a nil power value to the second inlet; the method also comprises, characterised in that it comprises the steps of ii) detecting a series of parameters associated with the operating conditions of the aircraft; and iii) enabling the transition of the aircraft from the first configuration to the second configuration, when the parameters assume respective first values.
Method for checking the maximum available power of a turbine engine of an aircraft equipped with two turbine engines
A method for checking the maximum available power of a turbine engine of an aircraft equipped with two turbine engines configured to operate in parallel and together to supply a necessary power to the aircraft during a flight phase includes: placing one of the turbine engines in a maximum take-off power regime, and adjusting a power supplied by the other turbine engine, such that the turbine engines continue to supply the necessary power to the aircraft during the flight phase; determining a power supplied by the turbine engine placed in the maximum take-off power regime, and processing the supplied power determined in this way, in order to deduce a piece of information relating to the maximum available power.
Device for temporarily increasing turbomachine power
A device for temporarily increasing power in order to increase the power from at least one first turbine engine and from at least one second turbine engine, the device including a tank of coolant liquid, a first injection circuit connected to the tank and leading to at least one injection nozzle configured to be installed upstream from the first turbine engine, a second injection circuit connected to the tank and leading to at least one injection nozzle configured to be installed upstream from the second turbine engine, each of the first and second injection circuits including at least one first valve and at least one second valve arranged upstream from said at least one first valve, and a bridge pipe connecting together the first injection circuit and the second injection circuit upstream from their respective first valves and downstream from their respective second valves.
