A flow control system includes a nozzle for controlling the flow of fluids into production tubing from a hydrocarbon containing reservoir. The nozzle comprises a passage extending between an inlet and an outlet, wherein the passage comprises converging and diverging sections separated by a corner. The nozzle serves to effectively choke the flow of steam and thereby allows preferential production of hydrocarbons.

Each vane includes a leg extending from the collar at a first angle with respect to the central axis. The first angle of the leg is configured to impart rotation to a flow of fluid through the baffle assembly. An impingement plate extends from the leg at a second angle with respect to the central axis. The second angle is greater than the first angle.

Disclosed is a throttle including: an upstream and downstream flanges; a flexible sheath that extends therebetween; a plurality of sets of shape memory alloy wires, extending between the flanges, that are (i) circumferentially aligned about the flanges; and (ii) exterior to the flexible sheath; and (iii) configured to contact an outer boundary of the flexible sheath, wherein: a first set of the plurality of sets of shape memory alloy wires form a first profile when exposed to a first temperature, causing the flexible sheath to form the first profile having a first internal diameter; and a second set of the plurality of sets of shape memory alloy wires form a second profile when exposed to a second temperature that is lower than the first temperature, causing the flexible sheath to form the second profile having a second internal diameter that is smaller than the first internal diameter.

Serviceable laminar flow element

Serviceable laminar flow elements are described. The serviceable laminar flow elements includes a flow sleeve, a laminar flow rod installed within the flow sleeve, a mounting plug arranged at a first end of the flow sleeve configured to fixedly secure the laminar flow rod within the flow sleeve at the first end, and an index cap arranged at a second end of the flow sleeve configured to fixedly secure the laminar flow rod within the flow sleeve at the second end. A laminar flow path is defined by a gap between an interior surface of the flow sleeve and an exterior surface of the laminar flow rod.

Device for increasing flow capacity of a fluid channel

A fairing, in the form of a contoured restriction, submerged on a fluid channel surface of a fluid channel through which liquid flows, re-distributes velocity fields and flow geometries upstream and in some embodiments downstream of a discontinuity, thereby preventing flow separation, reducing cavitation potential and increasing flow capacity. Such discontinuities include, but are not limited to: joints, for example elbow joints, T-joints and Y-joints; valve-trims; entrance regions to centrifugal pumps; and entrance regions to rotary valves, steps, reductions, expansions and ledges. The fairing may be fitted into the channel or integrally fabricated with the channel.

Seal for a flow restrictor

Apparatuses for controlling gas flow are important components for delivering process gases for semiconductor fabrication. These apparatuses for controlling gas flow frequently rely on effectively sealed flow restrictors which can eliminate leakage of process gas around the flow restrictors. In one embodiment, a seal for a flow restrictor is disclosed, the seal comprising a plastic cylinder which is shrink fit onto a sealing portion of the flow restrictor. In another embodiment, a seal for a flow restrictor is disclosed, the seal having a first sealing ring with a flow aperture, a flow restrictor installed into the flow aperture.

Distribution orifice system for a dry agricultural product applicator

A distribution orifice system for a dry product applicator with a pneumatic conveyance system is provided which redirects product that drags along a surface(s) of a delivery line's wall(s) back into a main central or primary airflow portion that carries the product downstream through the pneumatic conveyance system. The distribution orifice system may deflect the agricultural product's particulate material radially inward away from the delivery line's wall while longitudinally advancing it in a downstream direction. The system may include a ring ramp that can be renewed by uninstalling the ring ramp, flipping it 180-degrees, and reinstalling it to present an intact ramp surface facing upstream and the wore ramped surface facing downstream.

Implementations of an orifice plate configured to regulate a fluid flow are provided. An example orifice plate is configured to be positioned in a conduit and comprises a plurality of holes that extend through the orifice plate. The plurality of holes are arranged to form a criss-crossing pattern of spiral layouts configured to regulate a fluid flow passing therethrough. The number of clockwise spiral layouts is a Fibonacci number and the number of counter-clockwise spiral layouts is a Fibonacci number. In some implementations, each spiral layout is a logarithmic spiral. In some implementations, each hole of the plurality of holes is a contoured conical shape extending between an inlet and an outlet, the inlet is larger in diameter than the outlet.

The hydraulic snubber insert can have an elongated stem and at least one segment extending transversally from the stem, each segment having a size and shape mating a cross-sectional size and shape of the liquid carrying line, and at least one aperture, the insert being configured for the at least one segment to be pushable snugly into the liquid carrying line and pullable out from the liquid carrying line via the stem.
