The present invention includes a shield having a shield portion and a handle, the handle comprising a wall mount that allows the shield to be hung on a wall. The handle is coupled to the shield portion at a first end portion and a second end portion. An outward bending portion is disposed between the first end portion and the second end portion that allows a user to hold the shield. The wall mount includes a slit configured to house the head of a nail or other hanging fixtures and enables the shield to be mounted on a wall.

A hole plug that can be used during rework or repair of a composite fiber assembly includes various features that allow placement of a vacuum force to the surface being reworked or repaired. In some implementations, the hole plug can include a plurality of nubs positioned around a shank. The nubs can secure the hole plug to the composite fiber assembly until a cure of an adhesive. The hole plug can further include a plurality of longitudinally oriented grooves extending along the shank and positioned between the plurality of nubs, and can include a notch positioned circumferentially around the shank. The grooves and notch can be used as adhesive carriers that assist with dispersal of a sufficient volume of the adhesive onto other portions of the shank and the composite fiber assembly during insertion of the hole plug into a hole in the composite fiber assembly.

A method of manufacturing adhered components includes a process of applying adhesive to application areas on a surface of a first component, a process of placing a second component above the first component, and a process of pressurizing the second component toward the first component. In the pressurization process, the load applied to a pressurizer changes while sequentially undergoing a curvilinear increase period in which the load increases in a curved line as the compression amount of the adhesive increases, and a rapid increase period in which the load increases in a polygonal line with respect to the trajectory of the load in the curvilinear increase period as the compression amount increases. During pressurization by the pressurizer, the load is detected by a load sensor, the rapid increase period is detected based on the detection value of the load sensor, and the pressurization is stopped during the rapid increase period.

A mesh composition that bonds the composite rib to the preform and that bonds the preform to the composite structure is provided and is electrically conductive to conduct current between the composite rib and the composite structure.

Following identification, an information panel configuration corresponding to the identified user may be retrieved and configured on a display device. The displayed information panel configuration may include an arrangement of display items. The display items may have been previously selected by the identified user, and the selection may have included choosing an information panel template with one or more partitioned areas and selecting one or more display items to place in different partitioned areas.

Subject matter disclosed herein relates to improving a contact diameter of an adhesive/sealing material on surfaces of substrates by altering rheological properties of the adhesive/sealing material. An electrowetting display device comprises a first substrate and a second substrate, a first fluid and a second fluid disposed between the first substrate and the second substrate, wherein the first fluid is immiscible with the second fluid. An adhesive/sealing material comprising UV curable epoxy glue is in contact with the second fluid and couples the second substrate to the first substrate. The adhesive/sealing material further comprises silica particles in a range of 1-6% mass fraction of silica that alter rheological properties of the UV curable epoxy glue.

A method of fastening a second object to a fiber composite part including a structure of fibers embedded in a matrix material includes: providing the fiber composite part including an attachment surface, with a portion of the structure of fibers being exposed at the attachment surface; providing the second object; placing the second object relative to the fiber composite part, with a resin in a flowable state between the attachment surface and the connector; pressing the second object and the fiber composite part against each other and causing mechanical vibration to act on the second object or the fiber composite part or both, thereby causing the resin to infiltrate the exposed structure of fibers and activating the resin to cross-link; whereby the resin, after cross-linking, secures the second object to the fiber composite part.
