SCREW INSERT AND METHOD OF USING THEREOF
A screw insert configured for repairing a stripped screw hole. The screw insert comprises three elongated prongs each having a distal end and a proximal end. The three elongated prongs are hingedly connected to each other only at the proximal ends thereof. The three elongated prongs are equiangularly spaced from each other so that longitudinal axes thereof are spaced apart. Each of the prongs has an outer surface and an inner surface. The screw insert is transformable from an open configuration to a folded configuration. The longitudinal axes of the prongs are coplanar in the open configuration. The longitudinal axes of the prongs define an acute angle therebetween in the folded configuration.
WALL ANCHOR WITH DEFORMABLE EXPANDABLE PART
An anchor for hollow walls comprises a main body and an anchor member. The main body includes a proximal end adapted to be engaged by a rotatable tool to rotate the anchor about a longitudinal axis thereof and to cause it to gradually engage a wall, a distal end adapted to cut through the wall as the anchor is rotated, and a shank between the proximal and distal ends. The anchor member includes expandable wings and a body defining a hole, the expandable wings being in registry with respective slots defined in the shank and being displaceable between collapsed and expanded positions, A threaded fastener introduced in the anchor engages the body of the anchor member such that upon sufficient rotation of the fastener, the body of the anchor member retracts towards the proximal end thereby causing the expandable wings to extend outwardly through the slots behind the wall.
HINGED RETAINER ASSEMBLY
An assembly includes a clip portion which includes a first flexible flange and a second flexible flange that each at least partially define a central retainer passage. A flexible hinge connects the clip portion to a structure. A tab is located adjacent an opposite end of the clip portion from the flexible hinge.
CAST-IN PLACE ANCHOR WITH MULTI-USE JAWS AND REMOVABLE NOSE-PIECE
An anchor system is disclosed for anchoring objects to a concrete structure after concrete setting. The assembly includes an anchor housing having a threaded opening, a metal decking anchor assembly and a wood form anchor assembly. The wood form and the metal decking anchor assemblies may accommodate the anchor housing and the anchor housing is used in one of the wood form anchor assembly and the metal decking anchor assembly. The metal decking anchor assembly includes a nose-piece and the anchor housing is selectively connectable to the nose-piece via a locking connection such as a bayonet connection.
Cast-in-place anchor assembly
A anchor is disclosed for suspending objects below a metal deck after concrete setting. The assembly includes an anchor body having a threaded opening, a sleeve mounted to the anchor body and defining a sleeve opening. The opening extends away from the anchor body. The sleeve also has a flexible portion that elastically flexes upon insertion of the sleeve through a hole in a metal deck. The sleeve is narrower than the width of the flexible portion. The anchor also includes a support defining a supporting channel through which the anchor body extends and that is configured to permit sliding movement, but restrict tilting movement, of the support relative to the anchor body. Also included is a spring for biasing the support along the anchor body towards the sleeve so that opposite sides of a metal deck are clamped between the support and the flexible portion of the sleeve.
Self-fastening threaded insert and process for assembling such threaded insert
A self-fastening threaded insert is described, with respect to a slab of building material, comprising a bearing element with respect to the slab, a deformation element adapted to interact with the slab, and a supporting element cooperating with the bearing element. The deformation element is deformed due to the effect of an external load transmitted by the supporting element, and is adapted to transmit to the slab forces which are perpendicular to an application force of the external load to be able to fasten the threaded insert to the slab. A process for assembling such threaded insert is also described.
Removable blind fastener for joining components
The present invention provides a removable blind fastener 2 having a first tubular element 4 comprising an arm portion 24, 26, 28, a second tubular element 6 comprising an arm portion 30, 31, 32, and an elongate screw member 8. The elements are arranged in telescoping relationship one with the other and which fastener, when in use as a temporary fastener, is caused to secure the component parts of an airframe by causing telescoping movement of the elements towards each other when the screw member is turned in one direction and is caused to release the component parts of the airframe by causing telescoping movement of the elements away from each other when the screw member is turned in an opposite direction. The arm portions of the elements are located in mutual juxtaposition for telescoping movement upon rotation of the screw member as aforesaid with end portions of elongate arms of the arm portions being brought into engagement with tapered sills 34, 36 of the first tubular element whereby the arms are caused to splay outwardly to bring the end portions into engagement with an underside of the component and moving the component into secure temporary relationship with the component of the airframe.
