The receiving portion has first and second openings at the first and second ends. The body is provided with a gap, the gap has two ends extending to the first and second openings, and the gap is communicated with the receiving portion. The body is provided with first extending portions at two sides of the gap along a longitudinal direction, the first extending portions is provided with a first connecting sheet near the first opening, and the first connecting sheet is connected to each of the first extending portions and connected with the first opening. The first connecting sheet is provided with a first thin thread intersecting with the gap. The first fastening assembly is disposed on the first extending portions.

Controlled separation joint

A joint that is separable by detonating a detonating cord within an expanding tube. The joint is held together with a set of bolts. Each bolt is retained on one side of the joint with a lever. The expanding tube is retained under an arm of each lever. When the detonating cord is activated, the tube expands and exerts a force against an arm of each lever, thereby breaking the set of bolts, and allowing the joint to separate. In one example, the separable joint is used to retain a payload fairing on a launch vehicle so that the fairing can be jettisoned during flight.

Fitting for brace member

A fitting for engaging a brace member can include a fitting body defining a body opening extending laterally therethrough, the fitting body further defining a top contact surface and a bottom contact surface; a first jaw connected to the fitting body at a proximal first jaw end, the first jaw oriented perpendicular to the body opening; a second jaw connected to the fitting body at a proximal second jaw end, a the second jaw perpendicular to the body opening and disposed between the top contact surface and the bottom contact surface, wherein the top contact surface extends between the proximal first jaw end and the proximal second jaw end; and a slot defined between the first jaw and the second jaw.
