Device-to-mount rotational coupling mechanism
This disclosure describes a rotational coupling mechanism for releasably coupling a device to a mounting platform. In one example, a user may nest a device within the mounting platform and perform a single rotation of the nested device to toggle between a locked position and an unlocked position. The user may continue the single rotation of the nested device, in the same clockwise or anticlockwise direction, to toggle the device from the unlocked position and back to the locked position. In a locked position, the device is restricted from translation relative to the mounting platform, however, the device may continue to rotate in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction to toggle between a locked and unlocked position. In an unlocked position, the device may disengage freely from the mounting platform and is thus subsequently free to move in any translational direction or about any rotational axis.
GAS DISTRIBUTION ASSEMBLY INCLUDING POSITIONING DEVICE
A gas distribution assembly and method for reducing the eccentricity between a shower plate and an exhaust duct are disclosed. The gas distribution assembly includes positioning devices configured to reduce misalignment between the shower plate and the exhaust duct. The gas distribution assembly and method can be used to improve uniformity of film deposition thickness.
Spacer for use in precision bonding applications that provides enhanced shear strength
A spacer-locator with integrated locator pins and spacer tabs for use in joining applications. The spacer-locator provides consistent and accurate spacing between mating surfaces and the locator pins provide enhanced location control of the joining components while providing a mechanical advantage to the shear strength at the joint. Also, a spacer-locator for joining at least two objects along mating surfaces, the spacer-locator constraining at least two degrees of freedom for the objects to be joined.
Connectable Box Carcass Framework Members
A pair of connectable box carcass framework members for the fabrication of non-panel constructed furniture carcasses. They simplify the construction of a furniture carcass with a minimal of tools and skill required to produce a dimensionally square, precisely sized, box that accepts an abundance of aesthetic and functional options. They are based on a pair of mechanical fastener connectable vertical and horizontal members that have connectable zipper channels, linear rabbets for the retention of side panels, screw busses, and open channels with series of spaced orifices therein for the passage of mechanical connectors.
RETENTION SYSTEM, IN PARTICULAR FOR A CAMERA IN AN INSIDE COMPARTMENT OF A VEHICLE
A retention system on a mounting structure for a generally cylindrical component extending in a transversal axis. The retention system includes a generally U-shaped spring clip comprising a base and a pair of resilient retainer arms extending from the base along a longitudinal axis and defining an inlet passage; and a member holding said U-shaped spring clip; the retainer arms are adapted to engage with an upper side of the component in front of the inlet passage. The member includes one or multiple rigid retention walls extending inside the spring clip and which are adapted to engage with a lower side of the component at distance of the base, in working position.
DEVICE-TO-MOUNT ROTATIONAL COUPLING MOUNTING PLATFORM
This disclosure describes a mounting platform comprising a retainer plate opening that includes a first opening profile at a top platform surface of the mounting platform and a second opening profile at a bottom platform surface of the mounting platform. the top platform surface first receives a retainer plate when nested within the mounting platform, and the bottom platform surface abuts the retainer plate when the retainer plate is nested within the mounting platform. The first opening profile matches a planform profile of the retainer plate and is etched into the top platform surface through to the bottom platform surface, and the second opening profile is etched from midway between the top platform surface and the bottom platform surface through to the bottom platform surface. The second opening profile corresponding to a rotational offset of the first opening profile by a predetermined angle.
Fastening element and fastening assembly
A fastening assembly includes a fastening element extending along a central axis between a first and a second end. The fastening element includes a head section extending from the second end along the central axis and engageable by a tool, such as a hexagonal head. A protruding cylindrically shaped section has a smaller diameter than the head section. A flanged section is arranged between the head section and the protruding cylindrically shaped section. The fastening element on the cylindrically shaped section includes an engaging section. A first portion of the engaging section is positioned at a distance from the surface of the flanged section facing the first end, such that a locking washer will be stopped from reaching the surface of the flanged section if introduced on the cylindrically shaped section with its smaller central diameter in the direction of the engaging section.
JOINT LOCATOR
A locator (150) for positioning a male element (144) relative to a female element (142) in a joint (132), the male element (144) having a smaller footprint than the female element (142) and the locator (150) comprising an aperture (156) for receiving the male element (144), the aperture (156) having a smaller footprint than the female element (142) and locating means (164) for positioning the locator (150) relative to the female element (142) of the joint (132) such that the aperture (156) of the locator (150) selectively exposes only a part of the female element (142) to ensure location of the male element (144) within the female element (142) in a desired position. The locator (150) further comprises attachment means for attaching the locator (150) to the joint (132), wherein the attachment means is configured to detach on application of a threshold force. The invention therefore provides a simple means of reliably positioning a male element (144) in a desired position relative to a female element (142) in a joint during an initial installation stage without the need to visualise the joint (132). The invention is particularly applicable to a joint (132) in a vehicle suspension system between a frame (132) and a bolt (145) that supports a control arm (16).
LOADING SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR LATERALLY LOADING AND UNLOADING AN UPPER BODY STRUCTURE ONTO AND FROM A VEHICLE PLATFORM OF A MOTOR VEHICLE
A loading system laterally loads and unloads an upper body structure onto a vehicle platform of a motor vehicle. The system includes two loading arms pivotably mounted on lengthwise ends of the vehicle platform. The loading arms jointly swivel between upward and lateral orientations with respect to the vehicle platform and jointly extend and retract. Each loading arm has an engaging portion at a distal end of the respective loading arm to engage a corresponding support portion at a respective lengthwise end of the upper body structure. The loading arms engage and release the upper body structure by swiveling into the lateral orientation and extending and retracting within the lateral orientation. The loading arms mount the engaged upper body structure on top of the vehicle platform by swiveling with the engaged upper body structure into the upward orientation and retracting with the engaged upper body structure within the upward orientation.
