FASTENER SYSTEM WITH STABILIZER RIBS
Fasteners, drivers, punches, fastener systems, and methods of making fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems are disclosed herein. The fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems include, in one example, stabilizing ribs and corresponding recesses.
Screw having a head with different sockets
A screw includes a threaded shank and a head with a first surface. Communicating sockets formed in the first surface include a Pozi-type socket and a drive socket. The drive socket includes rounded portions, arched portions alternating with the rounded portions, and a conical portion connected to the rounded portions and the arched portions to define a first reference line and a second reference line parallel to a central axis of the head. The rounded portions are inclined outwardly from the first reference line, and the arched portions are inclined outwardly from the second reference line. Thus, a first room enclosed by the rounded portions and the arched portions increases gradually towards the first surface. By a combination of the above sockets, the head cooperates with different driving tools for delivering driving force efficiently and is more convenient to use.
Screw
A screw has a screw head and a shank extending downwardly from the screw head. The shank has a threaded segment, a cutting segment, and a tapered segment sequentially arranged downwardly, a thread spirally surrounding an external surface of the shank from the threaded segment to the tapered segment, multiple cutting ribs arranged around the external surface of the shank on the cutting segment of the shank, and multiple chip recesses formed between the cutting ribs. Each of the cutting ribs has a rounded crest to enlarge a drill hole and to reduce a resistance formed between the cutting ribs and the workpiece during drilling. The screw can be easily screwed into the workpiece with less driving force.
BONE ANCHORING SCREWS PROVIDED WITH A PLURALITY OF SOCKET TYPES
A bone anchoring screw comprises a head, a shaft and a threaded portion arranged successively along a common axis, the head having a recess comprising at least two stages arranged in succession along the common axis, the first stage having a diameter larger than the diameter of the second stage, in which one of the two stages comprises at least one socket of a first type and the other of the two stages comprises at least one socket of the first type and one other type.
SEQUENTIAL TORQUE APPLICATION RETENTION SYSTEM
A sequential torque application retention system includes a driver mechanism having a shaft; a center drive coupled to a tip end; an outboard drive coupled to the tip end; a screw including a screw head with a central receiver, the central receiver corresponding to the center drive, the central receiver configured to receive the center drive; a pair of outboard receivers formed in the screw head corresponding to the outboard drive, the pair of outboard receivers configured to receive the outboard drive; wherein the center drive is engaged with the screw head at the central receiver responsive to an initial torque and the outboard drive is engaged with the screw head at the pair of outboard receivers responsive to a subsequent torque; and wherein the outboard receivers are positioned so that they do not engage with the outboard drive responsive to the initial torque.
FASTENER SYSTEM WITH STABILIZER RIBS AND SQUARE DRIVE
Fasteners, drivers, punches, fastener systems, and methods of making fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems are disclosed herein. The fasteners, drivers, punches, and fastener systems include, in one example, stabilizing ribs and corresponding recesses.
BOLT PROVIDED WITH OPENINGS
Disclosed herein is a bolt provided with openings. The bolt includes a head part and a threaded part, and is fastened to a structure through the threaded part while being rotated by a tool. The bolt further includes: a coupling recess formed in the head part or the threaded part while forming a recess shape having a cross section corresponding to that of the tool, and configured to allow the tool to be coupled thereto; and one or more openings formed in portions of the coupling recess in hole shapes, and configured to expose at least portions of the tool, coupled to the coupling recess, out of the head part or the threaded part.
SCREW DRIVE
A screw head bush for a screw, wherein the screw head bush has an external portion and an internal portion following the external portion, wherein the external portion has a larger diameter than the internal portion and the external portion is configured essentially as a truncated cone tapering towards the internal portion and the internal portion is configured as engagement geometry for the rotationally fixed accommodation of a screw head drive.
Fastening system and method
A fastening system including a bolt with a shank defining a bolt axis and a bolt head secured to the shank. The bolt head includes a bolt head body with two channels therein, and two slots aligned with the channels. The channels and the slots extend between oppositely positioned axis-parallel surfaces. The channels are partially defined by internal walls in the bolt head body. The bolt head includes a cap surface transverse to the bolt axis. The system also includes a tool with a blade defining a tool axis, with a tip located at the second end. The tip is receivable in the channels. To rotate the bolt, the tip is positioned in a selected one of the channels, to align the tool axis with the bolt axis. Rotation of the bolt is urged by the tool, when the tool is rotated about the tool axis.
Universal Hardware Nut
A universal hardware nut that may be adaptable for use with various mating fasteners (e.g., bolts and screws). In one embodiment, the universal hardware nut comprises a nut body, wherein the nut body is manufactured from a pliable material; and one or more slots, wherein the one or more slots allow the nut body to accept fasteners of different sizes and shapes. In alternate embodiments, the universal hardware nut may comprise a sized hole instead of the one or more slots, or may comprise a combination of a sized hole and one or more slots.
