A fastener including a chisel point that pre-bores a hole in a work piece to prevent damage to the work piece as the fastener advances. The fastener can include a head, a shaft and a chisel brake point formed at an end of the shaft. The chisel brake point can include first and second opposing inclined surfaces disposed at an angle of about 80° to about 150° relative to one another. A thread can begin adjacent the chisel brake point and form an extension of an inclined surface and/or a chisel edge. The chisel brake point can scrape material from a work piece while pre-boring a hole. The material can be transferred to the thread, and subsequently fed up the thread, out of the pre-bored hole. The chisel brake point can also selectively retard advancement of the fastener into the work piece. Methods of installing the fastener also are provided.

FASTENER DEVICE AND METHOD FOR ATTACHING POLYESTER FIBER PANELS TO A SUBSTRATE
20220268303 · 2022-08-25 ·

A method and fastening device for attaching polyester fiber panels to a substrate, such as a wall or a ceiling. The fastening device comprises an anchor part for attachment to the substrate and a fastening part for attachment to the panel. The fastening part comprises a cylindrical portion, a helical member surrounding the cylindrical portion for penetrating the panel upon rotation of the helical member and a recess in the cylindrical portion for receiving the anchor part. The thread angle of the leading edge of the helical member is greater than the thread angle of the trailing edge.

Rug Fastening Device

A rug fastening device for attaching a rug to an installed carpet includes a fastener, which in turn comprises a plate and a screw. The screw is attached to a lower face of the plate and extends helically therefrom. The screw is pointed distal from the plate and thus can penetrate a substrate, such as a rug, a runner, or a mat. The fastener is one of a plurality of fasteners. Each fastener can be screwed through the substrate and into a carpet to affix the substrate thereto to prevent slipping and bunching of the substrate.

Wire thread insert

Wire thread insert consisting of a body with a plurality of helically wound windings, in which the plurality of helically wound windings comprises a first end winding and a second end winding which define the body at opposite axial ends, the first end winding has a first integral form-fitting means in a first end section and the second end winding has a second integral form-fitting means in a second end section, so that in an installed state of the wire thread insert a form-fit rotation-inhibiting connection with an adjacent component structure can be produced via the first and the second integral form-fitting means respectively.

DRIVER FOR THE INSERTION AND REMOVAL OF FLEXIBLE FASTENING DEVICES
20200289183 · 2020-09-17 ·

A driver for inserting and removing flexible and non-flexible fastening devices. The driver has an attachment for interfacing with the proximal end of the device and a flexible driver rod for interfacing with the distal end of the device. Alternatively, the flexible driver rod can interface with both the distal and proximal ends of the fastening device. The driver further interfaces with a guide wire or other means that connect with the interior of the device.

Coil for a threaded insert

The present invention relates to a coil (10) for transmitting torque to a threaded insert sleeve with an external thread and/or for tapping a thread. The coil (10) comprises a radially outer profile for anchoring the coil (10) in a threaded insert sleeve and for transmitting a torque to the threaded insert sleeve and/or for tapping a thread. In addition, the coil (10) comprises a driving profile suitable for receiving a drive, which can engage in the driving profile in such a way that a torque can be transmitted from the drive to said coil (10) and that at the same time the drive limits or avoids any torsion of the coil (10).
