MULTIFUNCTIONAL FASTENER
A multifunctional fastener is provided which is easy to install and combines a screw, and a washer and/or a wing assembly. The multifunctional fastener may include a fastener head. A threaded portion may extend longitudinally and distally of the fastener head. A fastener washer may be disposed between the fastener head and the threaded portion, and may extend radially outward of the fastener head. The wing assembly may include at least one fastener wing extending radially outward from the fastener head, and preferably radially outward of the fastener washer. A torque-applying tool connector may be provided in the fastener head. The torque-applying tool connector may be configured for engagement with a torque-applying tool such as a manual screwdriver or electric drill screwdriver to facilitate rotation of the threaded portion via the fastener head.
Wing-shaped thrust screw assembly
A thrust screw assembly includes a thrust screw and two threading dies for working the thrust screw. The thrust screw includes a first shank, a second shank, an external thread, and a thrust member. Each of the threading dies is provided with an external thread forming section and a flat portion forming section. In a first molding process, the first shank is worked to form the thrust member with two wing-shaped stop pieces. In a second molding process, the second shank is processed by the external thread forming section of each of the two threading dies to form the external thread on the second shank, and the two wing-shaped stop pieces is processed by the flat portion forming section of each of the two threading dies to form two flat portions on the two wing-shaped stop pieces simultaneously.
Self-sealing roof fastener
A self-sealing fastener for installation of roofing materials for creating a substantially watertight seal around fastener penetrations where roofing materials or panels are affixed to an underlying roof deck by the fasteners. Also disclosed is a method for installing the self-sealing fastener for attachment of roofing materials to an underlying roof deck with the penetrations areas or holes created by the fasteners being substantially sealed against water penetration.
DRY-CONSTRUCTION SCREW
A drywall screw for fastening a plasterboard panel to a metal support is provided, the screw having a head, a tip portion and an elongate shank, wherein the tip portion adjoins the shank, wherein the drywall screw has a widening element for widening the first borehole in the plasterboard panel to a first borehole diameter t and breaking off upon impinging the metal support, wherein the head exceeds the first borehole diameter t with a pressing-in volume V.sub.1, wherein the shank has a thread-free underhead portion which falls below the first borehole diameter t with a receiving volume V.sub.2 which is at least 80% of the pressing-in volume V.sub.1.
WINGED FASTENER, BUILDING CONSTRUCTION UTILIZING A WINGED FASTENER AND METHOD OF USE OF A WINGED FASTENER
A winged fastener includes a head, a shaft, and a plurality of wings, and other configurations with a single wing. The head disposed at a first end of the winged fastener. The shaft is coupled to the head and extends to a second end of the winged fastener, the shaft including a threaded portion that is disposed between the head and the second end of the winged fastener. The plurality of wings coupled to the shaft and disposed between the threaded portion and the second end of the winged fastener, a width of the plurality of wings being greater than a width of the threaded portion. A building construction is likewise shown, as is a method of using a winged fastener to couple portions of a building construction.
Wing-Shaped Thrust Screw
A thrust screw includes a head, a first shank, a second shank, and a drilling member. The first shank and the second shank are arranged between the head and the drilling member. The second shank is provided with an external thread. The first shank is provided with a thrust member corresponding to the external thread. The thrust member includes two wing-shaped stop pieces and two flat portions. The two flat portions are formed on the two wing-shaped stop pieces respectively and correspond to the external thread. The two flat portions have an outer diameter greater than that of the external thread. The two flat portions of the thrust member stop a further screwing motion of the external thread.
Threaded fastener
A threaded fastener is provided. The threaded fastener includes a shank having a non-threaded portion and a threaded portion. A tip extends from the threaded portion and a head extends from the non-threaded portion. A plurality of wings extend from the shank and are configured to form a passage as the threaded fastener advances. An enlarged portion is configured to seat in the passage formed by the plurality of wings with the threaded fastener in an installed arrangement.
