Biased equivalent strength threaded joint for dissimilar strength structural materials

Embodiments are directed to first and second structural members that are threadingly-engaged with each other. The first and second structural members are dissimilar strength materials. Each structural member configured with a plurality of threads for the threading engagement. The thread thickness of each thread in the plurality of threads for the first structural member is not equal to the thread thickness of each thread in the plurality of threads for the second structural member.

A fastener assembly having a nut with interior threads extending from a first end to an intermediate end wall, a narrowed diameter aperture extending from the end wall toward a second end. A first screw has a shaft exhibiting a first exterior thread pattern rotationally inter-engaging with the interior threads of the nut when installed through the first end. A recess formed in an end of the shaft exhibiting a further plurality of interior threads matching a direction of the first thread pattern. A second screw has a second exterior thread pattern opposite the first pattern and, upon being installed through the narrowed aperture, rotationally inter-engaging the interior threads of the first screw, with loosening of either screw being prevented by their counter-threaded orientation. A head of the second screw exhibiting an outer annular rim establishing a resistance fit within an entranceway location of the nut.

A threaded fastening assembly composed of a bolt, a nut, a fixing pin, and a positioning piece is revealed. The bolt includes at least one first groove arranged axially on a cylindrical surface of a shank and at least one first threaded segment. The nut has at least one second groove disposed axially on an inner cylindrical surface thereof and at least one second threaded segment. The first and second grooves are aligned to form a locking space for mounting the fixing pin. The positioning piece has a first side with two ends connected to a second side and a third side correspondingly. Inner edges of the second side and the third side are facing and extending toward each other to form convex portions which are matched with the first grooves. The fixing pin is mounted in the locking space for fastening the bolt and the nut.

Box nut retainer

A first example box nut retainer includes a support, a fastener sleeve, and a resilient arm. The fastener sleeve defines an opening and extends downwardly from the support. The resilient arm extends upwardly and outwardly relative to the fastener sleeve toward the support.
