LIGHTWEIGHT-CONSTRUCTION FASTENER

A lightweight-construction fastener (10) having a one-piece clip body (20) made of plastic and a clip nut (40). The clip body has the basic shape of a clamp, having two opposite legs (22, 24) extending in the longitudinal direction and a cage (28) in which the clip nut is floatingly mounted. The clip nut in turn has a nut base (42) which is substantially planar. A main part (44) is structured on the nut base and has a cover surface (41) and a plurality of side walls (51, 51′) which extend between the nut base and the cover surface. The side walls of the main part preferably have a convex curvature and the cage has correspondingly designed concave walls. The sizing is such that the convex-concave surface pairs act as torque supports during use of the lightweight-construction fastener.

Attachment unit

An attachment unit for providing a mounting thread as an internal thread on a component, in particular on a thin-walled component, includes an attachment body that bears the mounting thread and is arranged on a first side of the component in a region of a recess extending through the component, and a holding element that is arranged on a second side of the component in the region of the recess extending through the component and disposed opposite to the attachment body so as to hold the attachment body on the first side of the component.

Upholstered furniture component connection system

An upholstered component, such as panels, assembled onto a furniture frame or a chair mechanism by way of a connection system provides a robust connection and economical manufacturing process. The connection includes a T-nut and a spacer attached on opposite sides of a wood form to be upholstered. The threaded barrel of the T-nut inserted in a hole through the wood form and with T-nut prongs embedding into a surface of the side of the wood form that will be facing outwardly on the furniture. The spacer is inserted into the hole at the opposite side of the wood form and is retained therein by an interference fit. The wood form is upholstered and is then attached to the furniture frame or mechanism with a bolt connecting to the furniture frame or mechanism and then extending through the spacer, into the hole and into the threaded barrel of the T-nut.

Spacer assembly

A spacer assembly for spaceably coupling a first and second component with a threaded connection bolt, each one of the first and second component provided with one or more fitting apertures. The spacer assembly includes a support member, a base member, and a spacer member having resilient friction elements configured to provide an interference fit engagement with a predetermined friction force with a threaded connection bolt, during use.

Fastening system for an electrical transmission line repair device

A fastening system has a conditioner clamp and a penetrating fastener. The conditioner clamp has an upper assembly and a lower assembly attachable together to define a conductor cavity therebetween. At least one threaded opening provides ingress into the conductor cavity. The penetrating fastener is extendable through the at least one threaded opening. The penetrating fastener has a threaded bolt and a penetrating portion with a proximal end at a second end region of the threaded bolt and a distal end spaced therefrom. The penetrating portion has a frustoconical configuration terminating at a tip portion. The tip portion is configured to penetrate into a conductor positioned within the conductor cavity.

Method and apparatus for high pressure sealing

The present technology generally relates to devices, systems and methods for providing robust sealing between surfaces in a pressurized system, such as a chromatography system. In particular, the devices, systems and methods relate to compliant and resilient parts that can be reused and/or reinstalled while providing a pressure tight sealing surface even within a high pressure environment (e.g., 1000 psi or greater).

A coupling system for coupling a curved object to a central shaft, the curved object includes an inner surface facing the central shaft and an outer surface. The system includes a coupling member for coupling the curved object to the central shaft; at least one pocket integrally formed on a curved surface of the curved object and defined as a depression with respect to at least one of the inner and outer surfaces. The pocket includes: a flat portion having an aperture for holding the coupling member; and a flange portion which merges continuously from the flat portion to the curved object and is shaped such that the flat portion is disposed perpendicularly to the coupling member; a fastening member for fastening the coupling member to the flat portion. The thickness of the flat portion and flange portion is the thickness of the curved object.

T-Nut

A T-Nut comprising a tubular body attached to a flanged head is provided. The tubular body includes a bottom portion of constant diameter and an upper neck portion with a neck diameter that gradually increases as it approaches the flange head. Additionally, the bottom surface of flange head of the T-Nut may be recessed inwardly towards the top surface of the flange head to create circumferential concave cavity underneath the flange head, which will allow the flange head to envelope any portions of a washer or casing that may be above the surface of the material being joined.
