Cylindrical object locking device and method

A securement device includes a pair of plungers movable within a housing. The plungers act as quick lock mechanism to engage and secure a threaded rod (or other object) that passes into a hole that runs through the housing. The plungers are spring-biased to position themselves toward so as to provide a radially inward force, for example to engage a threaded rod or device in the through hole in the housing. A spring within the housing presses the plunger pieces toward a portion of the housing where the outer surfaces engage other surfaces to push the plungers inward. The device includes a disengagement feature or mechanism that is used to push the plunger pieces out of engagement with the threaded rod. The disengagement feature may include a disengagement tool, and may include wings, such as on the plungers or on carriers for the plungers, that protrude out of the housing.

The invention relates to a nut having an internal thread and two nut parts (1, 2), each of the nut parts (1, 2) having a section of the internal thread which is radially slidable onto an external thread (25), the nut parts (1, 2) having cooperating connecting elements which permit relative displacement of the nut parts (1, 2) in a direction extending radially with respect to the axis of the internal thread until reaching a use position in which the internal thread of the nut engages around the external thread (25) with a small clearance. The connecting elements have guide surfaces (9-20) which guide the nut parts (1, 2) of the nut in a rotational movement about an axis of rotation extending transversely to the axis of the internal thread when displaced into the use position,

The nut has a plurality of pressure threads (36-41) which are arranged around the internal thread and receive the pressure screws (26-31) that can be screwed out in the axial direction from a first axial end face (21) of the nut and have a receiving means (35) for a screwing tool in the region of a second axial end face (22) of the nut, wherein at least one pressure thread (36, 39) is arranged in the first locking arm (5, 7), which has the first axial end face (21), and wherein the second locking arm (6, 8) with the second axial end face (22), which cooperates with the first locking arm (5, 7), has a recess (42, 43) through which the pressure screw (29, 26) projects.

The present disclosure further provides a method of attaching a threaded rod to a structural component using a structural fastener. The method includes coupling a structural fastener to the structural component, sliding the threaded rod through a split nut of the structural component couple the rod to the structural fastener, and receiving springs secured in a nut arm of the split nut within a housing of the structural fastener.

A quick-release and quick-installation nut includes a nut body. The nut body includes a first threaded block and a second threaded block. An inner wall of the first threaded block and an inner wall of the second threaded block are formed with inner threaded surfaces for cooperating with an outer threaded surface of a screw rod. A right end of the first threaded block is detachably connected to a right end of the second threaded block. A left end of the first threaded block is hingedly or detachably connected to a left end of the second threaded block. The nut can realize quick disassembly and installation with the screw rod.

A multi sectioned nut is operable to attach to a threaded fastener. The multi sectioned nut includes a plurality of multi sectioned threaded nut sections and a turn-lock formed on at least one end of the plurality of threaded nut sections. A cage is detachably coupled to the plurality of nut sections operable to spring open on a side opposite the cage to allow the threaded fastener to pass through. The turn-lock is inserted into a strut slot and rotated to removably attach to the strut slot. According to one embodiment, the multi sectioned nut may include at least two sections.
