A locking device (11), e.g. a lock washer, for use with a screw threaded fastener (71), said locking device comprising at least a first disc-like body (12) comprising an annular portion (13) with at least one aperture (15) therein and a central through-hole (14) e.g. a washer having notches (15) open to the outer periphery and at least one further body (25) held in said one aperture (15). The further body may be shim (22) also having a central hole (24) and at least one tab (25) which extends through the notch (15) and has an end portion which juts above adjacent surface of the washer to engage an adjacent surface on the fastener when compressed, on tightening of the fastener deflects within the void of the aperture in which it is located under the influence of the tightening of the engaging surface such that under any tendency to loosen, the tab jams against the opposing surfaces and resist loosening of the fastener.

INTEGRATED BONDING MID CLAMP DEVICE, SYSTEM, AND METHOD FOR SOLAR PANEL MOUNTING AND GROUNDING

Disclosed herein is an integrated bonding mid clamp device for solar panel mounting and grounding, as well as a related system and method. The integrated bonding mid clamp includes a deformable toothed washer for breaking an anodized layer of a solar panel frame. The deformable toothed washer is capable of deforming to avoid obstructing proper contact between the mid clamp and the solar panel frame.

Bolt and nut loosening prevention assembly

The present invention relates to bolt and nut loosening prevention assemblies for preventing a bolt and a nut adapted to fix a first member and a second member to each other from loosening, including: loosening prevention members fitted to the bolt and the nut coupled to the first member and the second member, respectively; caps detachably coupled to the loosening prevention members, respectively, to prevent the loosening prevention members from rotating; and dual washers fixedly coupled to the insides of the loosening prevention members, respectively, to prevent the bolt and the nut from loosening.

Systems and methods for centering bearing compartments

Systems and methods are disclosed herein for dressing centering a bearing compartment in a gas turbine engine. A nut may be inserted through an outer case of a gas turbine engine. The nut may be coupled to a strut which centers a bearing compartment. The nut may be rotated to achieve a desired tension on the strut to center the bearing compartment. A retaining plate comprising a collar may be positioned over the nut. A swaging tool comprising a swaging ramp may be positioned over the nut. The swaging tool may be forced against the retaining plate using a draw-in bolt. The swaging ramp may contact the collar and form indentations in the collar to lock the nut in place.

Fastener systems for wood with overtightening and loosening prevention

A replacement for cylindrical dowel nuts is provided and is a hollow cylindrical nut with a threaded hole on top and an unthreaded hole at the bottom which is for the threaded shank to enter. This hollow dowel nut elastically compresses during tightening to act like a lock-washer to prevent loosening. Several solutions are provided to make the top of the nut thicker to fit more thread coils than what wall thickness would otherwise permit. To improve loosening prevention further and also provide overtightening prevention a hollow nut with flatter bottom and a narrow gap bisecting the lower hole are used which during tightening cause right and left edges of said gap to be pushed towards the bolt strongly gripping it which prevents overtightening and loosening. “C” shaped nuts also provided which cause misalignment and jamming in the thread when compressed thereby also preventing loosening and overtightening.

A lock nut system includes a nut having a retaining member which includes locking teeth configured to engage with the lock nut teeth. The retaining member is rotatable in both a clockwise or counterclockwise direction a preselected distance to allow the locking teeth to mesh with the nut teeth so the lock nut can be locked into position on the shaft without further rotation or other adjustment of the nut.

A locking plate for a locking arrangement includes a body that is defined by a first planar surface and a second planar surface that is opposite the first planar surface. The body has an arcuate shape that extends from a first lateral end to a second lateral end and extends from a radially inward facing edge to a radially outward facing edge. A single elongated curved opening extends through the body from the first planar surface to the second planar surface and extends an intermediate arc length in the body. An anti-rotation feature extends radially inward from the radially inward facing edge. The body has an anti-tilt lobe located proximate one or more of the first lateral end and the second lateral end.

SPINDLE NUT RETAINER SYSTEM

A spindle nut retainer is used with a spindle with a flat portion on its threaded end. The flat portion interrupts the threads on the threaded end. A washer with a mating flat portion is slidably mounted over the threaded end and a nut is removably threaded to the threaded end of the spindle against the washer to set the preload on bearings. The nut retainer overlays a plurality of the corners of the nut and engages the threaded portion of the spindle with tangs. A majority of the tangs are flexed or bent to remain in biased contact with the threads on the spindle. Some of the tangs are located over the flat portion and remain unbent. The tangs resist rotation of the nut by engagement with the flat portion where it meets the threads.
