High temperature resistant low friction washer and assembly
A bolted joint for coupling two components that undergo thermal expansion and contraction includes a bolt having a head and a stem, the bolt configured to provide a clamping force between the two components. A first washer having a thermal resistant, low friction coating is configured to be disposed between one of the two components and the bolt head to enable the one component to slide relative to the bolt during the thermal expansion and contraction, while maintaining the clamping force, to facilitate preventing bending or shearing of the bolt.
Spring washer for a variable flow rate valve mechanism
A variable flow rate valve mechanism includes a valve, a lock member, a valve attachment member and a spring washer. The valve includes a valve body and a valve shaft. The lock member is fixed to the valve shaft. The valve attachment member is attached to the valve shaft. The spring washer is disposed adjacent the valve attachment member. The spring washer is formed into an annular shape around an axis of the spring washer. The spring washer includes a support portion, a deformable portion and a protrusion portion. The support portion includes a seat surface and an open surface. The deformable portion is connected to the support portion and extends in an inclined manner. The deformable portion includes a contact surface and an opposite surface. The protrusion portion protrudes from at least one of the open surface of the support portion and the opposite surface of the deformable portion.
HEAT SHIELD ASSEMBLY FOR USE WITH AN AIRCRAFT ENGINE
A heat shield assembly for use with an aircraft engine. The heat shield assembly includes a structural member, a heat shield panel adapted for exposure to aircraft engine exhaust, an index joint coupling the heat shield panel to the structural member in a fixed positional location, and a plurality of slip joints coupling the heat shield panel to the structural member. Each slip joint includes at least one wear buffer coupled to the heat shield panel, and a slip fastener insertable through a slip joint hole in the heat shield panel with a clearance fit. A gap defined by the clearance fit is sized to provide a tolerance for expansion and contraction of the heat shield panel relative to the fixed positional location, and the at least one wear buffer is engageable by the slip fastener during expansion and contraction of the heat shield panel.
Slippage free compact reaction washer based actuation and reaction torque transfer system with lock-on capability
A reaction washer is optimized for lock-on, optional stiction ring and for a predetermined indentation depth of bidirectional serrations for secure reaction torque transfer during initial and full actuation of respective nut or bolt heads resting on it. An optional lock-on ring embedded around the reaction socket is ergonomically actuated to latch on and off underneath the reaction washer. Axial offset of the peak stress areas away from the actuation socket edges provides for reduced actuation socket diameter and consequently for the entire tool and system remaining substantially within radial assembly limits established for prior art actuation sockets alone. A coupling unit is attached to and tightened on a power torque wrench via a clamp tool utilizing the power wrench's own torque. A hand hold groove and a lock able snap release button offset from the coupling castle snap connection contribute to safe and ergonomic operation and system peak performance.
Bolt and nut loosening prevention assembly
The present invention relates to bolt and nut loosening prevention assemblies for preventing a bolt and a nut adapted to fix a first member and a second member to each other from loosening, including: loosening prevention members fitted to the bolt and the nut coupled to the first member and the second member, respectively; caps detachably coupled to the loosening prevention members, respectively, to prevent the loosening prevention members from rotating; and dual washers fixedly coupled to the insides of the loosening prevention members, respectively, to prevent the bolt and the nut from loosening.
TOOL FOR INSERTING AN ANTI-ROTATION SECTION OF A THREADED ROD INTO A MARGINALLY SMALLER APERTURE
A tool for driving a threaded rod includes a shell, multiple balls and a cover. The shell includes a ring and a stepped aperture. The ring is formed on an internal face of the shell. The stepped aperture includes a first section on a side of the ring, a second section in the ring, and a third section on an opposite side of the ring. The multiple balls are inserted in the third section of the stepped aperture. The cover includes tube inserted in the first section of the stepped aperture through the second and third sections of the stepped aperture so that the cover retains the balls in the shell.
SELF-REACTING CENTER WHEEL NUT ASSEMBLY, DRIVER ASSEMBLY, TOOL ASSEMBLY AND ASSOCIATED METHODS
A self-reacting center wheel nut assembly includes a reaction ring (120) formed between a center wheel nut (110) and a lock collar assembly (130). The self-reacting center wheel nut assembly may also include a washer (140) and O-rings. The self-reacting center wheel nut assembly improves and simplifies wheel bolt tightening; uses the lock collar assembly as a reaction point by transferring opposing torque generated during installation and removal through the reaction ring, which is reacted on by a dual sleeved drive assembly; may be used with HYTORC electric battery powered torque multiplier gun/tools to deliver quick, accurate and precise torque; eliminates the need for external reaction points such as the rim or ground, thereby eliminating side loads and damage to the wheel; is fully sealed and lubricated; eliminates vehicle movement and the need to lock the brakes; reduces operator fatigue, chances of injury and saves operator time and energy.

Fastening structure
A fastening structure inserts a threaded rod 11a of a bolt 11 through a fixing hole 12a of a to-be-fixed member 12 in a manner such that an end portion of the threaded rod protrudes from the fixing hole, and screwing a machine screw 15 with a proper torque into a nut 14 which is provided on the end portion via a washer 13. The washer has an inclined surface 13c formed on a first side 13b which faces the nut, and has a flat surface formed on a second side 13d. The machine screw is screwed into the nut in a direction such that an axis is orthogonal to the inclined surface 13c. The first side (the inclined surface) and the second side of the washer have a different surface roughness, and the first side has a smaller coefficient of friction than the second side.
